Further sizes have joined the Alliance range of row crop tyres, thereby increasing the brand’s offer for heavy duty and high speed self-propelled sprayers and tractors. A size VF 480/95R50 fitment has been added to the Alliance 354 AgriFlex+ line, while the 363 AgriFlex gains four new sizes, VF 270/95R48, VF 230/95R48, VF 270/95R54 and VF 380/90R46.
If it’s not broken, don’t try and fix it. Yokohama Rubber Company took this idiom to heart following its acquisition of the Alliance Tire Group (ATG) in July, and for good reason it seems. Speaking with media for the first time since the deal’s closure, ATG’s head of marketing for Europe, Ole Baek, noted in October that Yokohama Rubber is more than happy to keep things the way they are for the time being.
Gregorio Stefanucci, of Azienda Agricola Stefanucci & C. and also an Alliance Tire Group (ATG) client) has testified to the quality of ATG’s high power tractor products:
“Agricultural machines are becoming bigger and bigger. At the end of the road, there is only one thing we are looking for: tyres able to stand the strain of heavy soils and heavy tractors”.
Alliance Tire Group is marketing the Galaxy Yardmaster SDS as the ‘king of forklift tyres’. Developed and designed for warehouse operations, all kinds of loading and unloading work, shop-floor as well as port and yard operations, the Galaxy Yardmaster SDS is said to be “a true workhorse for long and demanding tasks”.
On 1 July, Yokohama Rubber completed its acquisition of the Alliance Tire Group. The Japanese company’s new subsidiary is now headed by Toru Kobayashi, formerly assistant to Yokohama Rubber president Hikomitsu Noji, who has been appointed Alliance Tire Group chairman.
ATG Europe (Alliance) has launched phase one of a new European advertising campaign. The new ad was officially presented to the European press at Reifen 2016, in Essen (Germany).
ATG’s communications restyling process starts with the Alliance brand mainly focused on agriculture application, followed closely by Galaxy, for industrial and construction vehicles.
Although Yokohama Rubber plans to “create a premier global tyre manufacturing company” through its acquisition of Alliance Tire Group (ATG) and resultant synergies in expertise and experience, the Japanese firm confirms it will retain the ATG business model, along with the company’s “culture” and brands.
The Alliance TyreGroup (ATG) will use the Bauma 2016 show in Munich to launch a row of innovative tyres, the manufacturer states. The 31st edition of this world leading trade fair for construction, building and mining machinery and equipment will see the Galaxy Beefy Baby SDS skidsteer tyre in size 31 x 10-20 exhibited.
Indian financial daily The Economic Times reports that American private equity firm KKR & Co. L.P. has begun initial talks that may result in the sale of its 90 per cent share in off-highway tyre specialist Alliance Tire Group. The publication names Sumitomo, Continental and Michelin as potential buyers, however it notes that no confirmation of these firms’ interest has been given.
Last month we mentioned that 2015 had been a good year for Kirkby Tyres Ltd. Amongst other highlights, the wholesaler instigated a new warehouse project, added key new product lines and was named ‘Truck and Agricultural Tyre Supplier of the Year’ at the NTDA awards in October. The Liverpool-based company now looks forward to continuing its success in 2016.
Alliance Tire Group, or ATG, calls itself the industry’s fastest-growing manufacturer of off-highway tyres. To support this expansion the company recently opened a new factory in Dahej, India. The tyre maker says the state-of-the-art 122,000 square metre plant utilises the latest manufacturing technologies and is currently able to produce 90 tonnes per day or 33,000 tonnes of tyres per annum, with capacity expected to rise to 57,000 tonnes a year by the end of 2016.
Off-highway tyre maker ATG brought several new innovations to the Agritechnica show earlier this month. These included its new VF (Very High Flexion) sprayer tyre, the Alliance 354 AgriFlex+. Amongst the tractor and combine harvester tyres on display were the new Alliance 376 MultiStar IF (Improved Flexion) and the large volume 378 AgriStar XL. The flotation and agri-transport category was represented by the Alliance 380VF and 390MPT flotation radials plus the new 885 Flotation Radial in a 26.5 inch rim diameter.
Mobivia and Point S have agreed a procurement alliance. According to the two companies, this strategic alliance will cover the listing and sourcing of the products ranges purchased by both Groups – that is tyres and car parts – for the markets they cover. However, while the two organisations are working together in terms of purchasing, under the terms of the alliance each group remains autonomous when it comes to the management of its network, policies and development.
Speke-based tyre wholesaler Kirkby Tyres is not concerned with the high production levels and low prices currently coming out of China at the present time, not least because it does not play a role in the car tyre market. The OTR specialist comments that it expects “more and more tyres to come in at lower prices” within the PCR market, but adds, categorically, that: “we have absolutely no interest in buying or adding budget Chinese tyres to our brand offering” within the segments in which it does operate.
Off-highway tyre specialist Alliance Tire Group (ATG) says it will launch “a broad range of new products in the flotation and agri-transport segment” at this November’s Agritechnica. While the tyre maker hasn’t yet provided full details of everything it intends to release at the show, it confirms that a new portfolio of Alliance all-steel high speed flotation radials for agricultural trailers will be on display.
