Alliance appoints new head of marketing, Europe

In a bid to lead the row crop sector, Alliance Tire Group has introduced IF (Improved Flexion) and VF (Very improved flexion) low pressure Alliance 354 Agriflex and 354 Agriflex + (VF) narrow radials.
According to the company, the tyres are designed with specific sidewall flexibility, enabling them to carry either the same loads as standard radial tractor tyres but at lower pressures or carry up to 20 per cent (IF) and 40 per cent (VF) heavier loads at the same pressure.

ATG (Alliance Tire Group) has appointed former Hilti Deutschland management board member Peter Baur as president of its European operations. Baur started on 9 February 2015.
A major UK wholesalers in the agricultural tyre segment, RH Claydon will exhibit at LAMMA in late January with 62 years’ experience behind them. The company boasts a wide range of brands and fitments to meet the needs and requirements of the sector; sales and marketing director, John Parker said, “the agricultural or (off-highway) market is what we do best and is definitely the area that the industry judges to be our core sphere of expertise.”
The new, 54,000 ton per annum Alliance Tire Group factory in India’s Gujarat state is now in operation. The company reported the inauguration of its third facility (the others being Hadera, Israel and Tirunelveli, India) in the second half of December 2014, and said the US$150 million facility in Dahej will reach full capacity in early 2016. At this date it is expected to employ some 1,500 workers.
Kirkby Tyres has announced the availability of a number of new agricultural tyre sizes. Indian manufacturer BKT is supplying eight new fitments of tractor and trailer tyres to the Liverpool based wholesaler, while Kirkby UK exclusive brand Alliance has three new sizes of its 320 Value Plus tyre for small trailers, balers and agricultural tillage implements.
Manny Cicero, president of Alliance Tire Group’s North American operation, will leave the company at the end of this month. Alliance Tire Group says the decision on Cicero’s departure was “mutually agreed upon”, and he will remain through to the end of 2014 as an advisor to the ATG board of directors. A successor has not yet been named.
Alliance Tire Americas, Inc. is now an official sponsor of the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA), according to the association the world’s oldest and most respected truck and tractor pulling sanctioning organization. NPTA reports that the three-year deal will “raise awareness for the Alliance brand by exposing it to fans attending tractor pulls across the Midwest and South, as well as to the thousands who follow the action on RFD-TV and online.”
Bruce Besancon has been appointed vice-president of marketing at Alliance Tire Group’s US subsidiary. Besancon comes to Alliance Tire Americas with more than 20 years of expertise working for Michelin North America, including five years heading marketing efforts for Michelin’s earthmover business unit.
During the course of the recent Agritechnica event, Alliance Tire Group launched the 396MPT – an all-steel high-speed radial floatation tyre. Capable of speeds up to 100 km/h, the latest product is described as “revolutionary technology” by Alliance owing to its high floatation, traction, speed, stability and comfort characteristics. Indeed, according to the company, “this new approach provides a performance combination that was not possible before.”
Amongst the Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks range on display at Agritechnica is a version of the Arocs retrofitted by the manufacturer for agriculture. The 310kW (421hp) tractor Arocs 2042AS is fitted with permanent all-wheel drive in order to facilitate the efficient transportation of heavy loads at speed – an application that requires specific tyres.
India’s Economic Times reports that private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) has agreed to buy a 90 per cent stake in Alliance Tire Group. The deal for a reported US$650 million includes an estimated $125 million in debt.
