North America launch for ‘extreme’ Pirelli Scorpion A/T tyre

The latest addition to the Pirelli Scorpion line-up takes the range’s legacy “to the next level” by “pushing the Scorpion family to its extreme.” With these bold remarks, Pirelli has launched the Scorpion XTM, an all-terrain tyre designed to meet the demands of electric, plug-in hybrid, and combustion engine trucks and off-road vehicles. The range debuts in North America, with Pirelli not yet indicating if or when it will offer the tyre in European markets.

With rugged tread pattern and bold sidewall lettering, an all-terrain (A/T) tyre is a hench addition to any 4×4 or pick-up. They’re also an increasingly popular option for campervans. But does true off-road muscle lurk behind this aggressive appearance? To answer this question, specialist motorhome publication Promobil put seven size 255/55 R18 tyres A/T tyres to the test.

BFGoodrich launches All-Terrain T/A KO3

A new generation of BFGoodrich all-terrain tyre is on its way. BFGoodrich Tires has announced the US market launch of the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3, with the first sizes available from this month. The tyre maker has not yet shared a specific timetable for the KO3’s UK and European release.

Best balance: Vredestein debuts Pinza all-terrain tyre

Following a five-year global research and development programme, Apollo Tyres is launching its first dedicated all-terrain tyre: the Vredestein Pinza. Designed to be the “most capable off-road Vredestein tyre ever” while at the same time offering “superior standards of on-road grip, traction, rolling resistance and refinement,” Apollo says the Pinza has “the best balance of on- and off-road capabilities of any all-terrain tyre on the market.”

Giti4x4 AT71 marks brand’s entry into European all-terrain tyre market

Giti Tire

Giti Tire has launched the Giti4x4 AT71, the manufacturer’s eponymous brand’s first all-terrain tyre available in Europe. The Giti4x4 AT71 targets a wide variety of vehicle types from AWD SUVs to heavy-duty pick-ups. Giti says the tyre offers “precise control and a durable performance both on and off-road” for “adventurous motorists”. It is available in eight sizes between 17” and 20″, section widths from 245-285, series sizes from 50-70 and speed indices S and T. The tyre offers a wet grip rating of A-C, rolling resistance of C-D and a noise level of B on the EU tyre label.

North West 4×4 Response fits Davanti Terratoura tyre

North West 4×4 Response has made Davanti its tyre partner. The crisis support charity will fit the brand’s all-terrain Terratoura as its official tyre. North West 4×4 Response volunteer drivers use their own 4×4 vehicles to provide access for midwives, firefighters, food and supplies to communities that are difficult to access.

Triangle launches AgileX AT

Triangle Tyre has provided more details of the Triangle AgileX AT all-terrain tyre that it is bringing to Europe.
