As promised earlier in the year, Goodyear has expanded its Vector 4Seasons Cargo line-up. It has added nine new sizes to this all-season range, increasing the number of SKUs to 28. With tyres available in 14- to 19-inch rim diameter dimensions, Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Cargo provides solutions for some of the most popular light commercial vehicles in the market, such as the Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, MAN TGE and Isuzu D-MAX.
The Falken Eurowinter HS02 and HS02 Pro ranges have grown since their arrival last winter and are now respectively available in 45 and 74 dimensions. For this winter, they’re joined by a new all-season tyre, the Falken Euroall Season AS220 Pro. Designed to perform all year round and available in Europe since mid-September, Euroall Season AS220 Pro is aimed specifically at performance-oriented vehicles.
Nokian Tyres has unveiled a new all-season tyre for European markets and launch images of the Seasonproof 1 don’t only provide a view of what the tyre looks like – the DOT code on the sidewall tells us where Nokian Tyres Seasonproof 1 is made, and who the manufacturer is. What we can see from the 205/55 R16 and 235/60 R18 tyres in publicity photos is that both were produced by Sailun Group in Qingdao, China.
Nokian Tyres has announced a successor to its Seasonproof all-season tyre. Named the Seasonproof 1, this latest generation tyre delivers “improved wear resistance and mileage.” Seasonproof 1 will debut by the end of this year in a range that covers 63 dimensions for cars, SUVs and CUVs.
As promised, Auto Bild has further tested the 16 tyres remaining in its 2023 all-season test following the elimination of 19 products whose combined wet and dry braking distances didn’t make the grade. The motoring publication’s test team gave five of the size 225/45 R17 tyres their highest ‘exemplary’ rating and they declared a further three ‘good’ tyres. The remaining eight products finished testing with ‘satisfactory’ or ‘conditionally recommended’ ratings.
Goodyear UK is investing in a television advertising campaign for its Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3.
The advert marks a step up in the ongoing TV advertising investment for Goodyear in the UK, with a campaign set to reach 50 million impressions across UK drivers, including viewers on Quest, DMAX, Discovery Turbo, Eurosport and Food Network.
Auto Bild will soon publish its 2023 all-season tyre test, which includes a total of 35 premium, mid-range and budget products in size 225/45 R17. As in other years, the German motoring publication has whittled down this broad field of contenders by subjecting each and every one of them to a preliminary round of wet and dry braking tests. When the dust and water spray settled, just 16 finalists remained to slug it out for supremacy.
AutoBild Allrad’s 2023 test of 10 all-season SUV tyres gave four tyres the top “exemplary” grade, with two joint-winners. In Germany, all-season tyres have grown with the most recent product generations’ improved technology, despite the traditional strength of its seasonal tyre change market. The magazine, one of Germany’s leading consumer automotive publications, said the top-ranking tyres in its latest test have “matured into true heroes of road traffic.” At the other end of the scale, three of the size 235/65 R17 108 V/W tyres were described as “not recommended”, while three other tyres gained “satisfactory” and “good” final verdicts. So which all-season products could AutoBild Allrad “unreservedly recommend” to motorists?
All-season tyres are an increasingly popular choice for UK motorists but we’re still more reluctant to choose these than our neighbours in Germany. According to comparison platform Check24, in 2022 all-season tyres accounted for 68% of the car tyre market in Hamburg and Berlin, regions with weather and climate not all that different from that in large parts of Britain. Market share in southern Germany, where winters are harsher, was much lower.

While the all-season tyre market in the UK has started its ascent from a low base, it remains the fastest growing consumer car tyre segment. The trend has been supported by the last five years of manufacturers’ all-season product development, which have reduced the compromises involved in fitting a tyre capable of performing well in moderate winter weather conditions all year round. Leading independent UK tyre wholesaler Micheldever Tyre Services (MTS) has been strengthening its all-season range with exclusive brands, including the new all-season tyres from its owner Sumitomo Rubber Industries’ global flagship brand Falken and long-term MTS partner GT Radial, the recent addition of Turkish brand Petlas to its line-up, and further product additions from brands such as Runway and Ovation. MTS wholesale director Graham Mitchell tells Tyres & Accessories about how the wholesaler views the all-season (and winter) tyre segment in the UK, as well as the company’s plans to support its dealer network with the increased interest in these adaptable products.

T&A also spoke to several representatives from the brand’s European team, including the manufacturer’s European CEO Thomas Wohlgemuth who is heading up the rollout of the brand around the continent, about its new products and aspiration to make its mark on the European tyre segment.
Three of Hankook’s flagship tyres have been recommended in consumer motor magazine Auto Express’s Product of the Year Awards. The all-season Kinergy 4S 2 won the all-season tyre category, following its tyre test victories in 2022 and 2021.Hankook’s Ventus S1 evo 3 SUV tyre and new Winter i*cept RS3 also received the magazine’s “Commended” rating in other categories. “Once again, we are delighted with these Product of the Year awards from Auto Express and this proves that Hankook tyres are a great choice for our UK customers all year round. The PorTran CX11 joins the KC53 and CW51 as Kumho’s comprehensive van tyre range. The latest light commercial vehicle product is an all-season tyre for vans and light commercial vehicles. It was created by combining the strengths of the company’s much-praised all-season Solus 4S HA32 passenger car pattern and its existing winter specification van tyre, the PorTran CW51. The result is the PorTran 4S CX11 that ensures safe, secure driving and excellent braking performance throughout the year.
