The two Continental tyre types specially developed for the Extreme E off-road racing series have made their global debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed. Designed for the world’s toughest driving conditions, the new summer and winter tyres were presented to the public along with the electric SUV on which they are to tackle some of the most extreme locations across the globe.
Swiss fans got the chance to see the Formula E car in action for the first ever time when the fully-electric single-seater drove through the streets of Geneva. The event, organised by Formula E’s Official Timekeeper and founding partner TAG Heuer with the support of global partner Julius Baer, saw local driver Simona de Silvestro behind the wheel of the Spark-Renault SRT_01E.
The London finale of the all-electric FIA Formula E Championship has received planning approval from Wandsworth Council. The race will be held on 27 and 28 June within the grounds of Battersea Park, a location which should, in the middle of summer, present an appropriately effulgent capital for the end of the series’ first season. An additional race will also be added to the London ePrix, increasing the inaugural calendar by one additional race to 11. Series founding partner Michelin will provide control tyres for both rounds, continuing in its role as Formula E official tyre supplier.
