Mitas, part of the Trelleborg Group, has announced a five per cent increase in agricultural tyre prices in Europe. The new prices, which will affect both Mitas and Cultor brand agricultural and light agricultural application tyres, will come into effect on 1 February, 2017. The manufacturer said the rise is “driven by the recent increase in raw material prices.”
The all-new Michelin AxioBib 2 tyre range will debut in the UK at LAMMA 2017 in January, a month ahead of its planned international debut. The new tyre range will initially be available in two Very High Flexion dimensions, VF 650/65 R42 and VF 540/65 R30, and has been designed to meet rising demand for tyres that can accommodate large loads at lower pressures. AxioBib 2 tyres can be viewed throughout the LAMMA Show at the East of England Showground on 18 and 19 January 2017, on Michelin stand G33.
Following its award for ‘Best Agricultural Tire’ in the south-eastern region of Brazil for the third consecutive year at the VisãoAgro Awards, the performance of Trelleborg’s agricultural tyres in the sugar cane industry has also been recognised for the first time nationally.
A new campaign for the Vredestein agricultural tyre portfolio is being rolled out around the world under the hashtag #LIVETHELAND. The campaign, which focuses on the themes of ‘Feel the freedom’ and ‘Experience the performance’, follows in the footsteps of the successful #ROCKTHEROAD car tyre campaign.
Trelleborg Group company Mitas is extending its range of Cyclic Harvesting Operation (CHO) tyres, and this month presents two new sizes – 900/60R42 CHO 183D/186A8 SFT and 900/60R38 CHO 181D/184A8 SFT.
The ‘2 in 1’ tyre from Michelin wasn’t the only tyre innovation honoured at yesterday’s 2017 SIMA Innovation Awards. Trelleborg Wheel Systems also walked away with a gold medal for its soon to be released Variable Inflation Pressure, or VIPTM, system.
A shape-shifting tyre that protects soil while accommodating on-road use is Michelin’s answer to the growing size of agricultural machinery, and this new solution – the ‘2 in 1’ tyre – has landed a SIMA Innovation Award ahead of its launch under the Evobib brand name next year.
Spaldings is supplying TyrePal tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) to its customers in the agricultural sector. The TPMS can be attached to tractor or trailer tyres to help farmers increase safety, as well as reduce downtime and the risk of an expensive tyre blow out.
Michelin has financed more than £1.3 million in agricultural tyres and rims across the past 18 months with its 0 per cent finance credit scheme. More than 270 farmers have used the Flexelagri finance programme, launched in early 2013, which helps qualifying farmers and contractors from the UK purchase agricultural drive, materials handling and trailer tyres by spreading the cost over 24 monthly payments.
Trelleborg will display its new virtual reality app at EIMA International 2016 in Bologna between 9 and 13 November on stand A1, Hall 14. The company says the app gives users to see Trelleborg’s best-in-class agricultural tyres in action. Visitors can also experience the challenges of modern agriculture on-stand with the new Farming Simulator 17 video game, of which Trelleborg is the official partner for agricultural tyres.
Mitas, part of Trelleborg Group, is to release the largest tyre in its High Capacity Municipal (HCM) range, 540/80R38 HCM. This fifth size will be displayed at the EIMA fair at Mitas stand A1 in Hall 14. Pavel Kott, product manager for Mitas agricultural tyres, said: “Mitas entered the municipal tyres segment last year. The success of the HCM range gave us a strong signal to continue development and broaden the offer of tyre sizes.”
Titan published third quarter 2016 financial shows sales for the third quarter of 2016 were $306.2 million, down 0.9 per cent, compared to $308.8 million in the third quarter of 2015. Gross profit for the third quarter of 2016 was $33.0 million, or 10.8 per cent of net sales, compared to $26.2 million, or 8.5 per cent of net sales, for the third quarter of 2015.
A new virtual reality, or VR app from Trelleborg will be launched at the EIMA 2016 exhibition next week. Visitors to the Bologna show will be able to try out the new agricultural tyre app for ioS and Android devices using virtual reality headsets at Trelleborg’s show stand (Hall 14, stand A1).
