It’s been rumoured for a long time, now various media outlets report that major European rural sector event Agritechnica won’t take place in a face-to-face format. This has yet to be confirmed by show organiser the German Agricultural Society (DLG).
Farming Simulator 22 has arrived, and with it a cornucopia of tyre brands that players can select for their equipment. In addition to the previously reported presence of BKT, Continental and Michelin, Vredestein is also making its debut in the simulation game. Brand owner Apollo Tyres says this initiative is part of its strategy to raise awareness of the full range of premium Vredestein agricultural products among millions of current and aspiring farmers and supplier businesses.
John Deere has approved further Continental tyres as original equipment for its tractors, with the 6M and 6R available fitted with Continental TractorMaster and VF TractorMaster tyres from 1 November. Both product lines are manufactured at Continental’s plant in Lousado, Portugal.
Off-highway tyre specialist BKT has set up a new facility near its existing Waluj plant in India’s Maharashtra state. The original intention was to decommission the older factory once the new one was operational, but BKT reports that due to “extremely robust” demand, it has decided to continue operations at the old Waluj plant.
Tyre aficionados are in for a treat when Farming Simulator 22 arrives in just over a week’s time. Not only are Continental and BKT present in the simulator, Michelin has also become an official partner. It says this partnership “allows all players to take advantage of the environmental and productivity performance benefits” of the Michelin agricultural tyre range.
With immediate effect, the Steyr Expert CVT, Profi Series, Impuls CVT and Absolut CVT tractor ranges are available with factory-fitted Continental TractorMaster and VF TractorMaster tyres. Steyr is a CNH Industrial brand; Continental also supplies tyres to its sister company, Case IH.
Armchair farmers rejoice: Farming Simulator 22 debuts on 22 November. We’ve already reported that Continental tyres will debut on this latest version, and BKT now shares that its tyres will also be available on the virtual tractors and agricultural machinery. The following BKT products are joining the simulation: Agrimax V-Flecto, Agrimax Force, Agrimax Teris, Multimax MP 522 and Ridemax FL 693 M.
Michelin has introduced a new 540/80 R38 size in its CrossGrip tyre range for loaders, telehandlers and small tractors. The new model is the largest size in this all-season range, which is suitable for applications on road, grass and snow. The new CrossGrip fitment expands the range to 13 dimensions for original equipment and replacement fitment.
Continental has launched a new telehandler and compact loader tyre, Introducing the CompactMaster EM. Rebecca Shedden, Continental’s general sales manager for Commercial Specialty Tyres, says: “The CompactMaster EM is specifically designed to help operators handle demanding rough conditions. The tyre features new Turtle Shield tread technology and a twisted steel cord. The hard shell, and more flexible steel wire construction, helps to prevent cuts and damages whilst offering greater stability.”
Agricultural tyre specialist BKT has supported the 2021 edition of the Tractor of the Year Awards, presented at the EIMA trade fair in Bologna. It is the second time the manufacturer has sponsored the awards, which recognise the most innovative and cutting-edge tractors on the market.
For the fourth time this year, Yokohama Off-Highway Tires (YOHT) is increasing prices for its products. In announcing the new pricing that will be applied from 1 December, YOHT stresses it has sought to keep the increases in 2021 “lower than the industry average” by itself absorbing “the major part” of the “dramatically rising cost for raw materials and freight” rather than pass these additional costs on to customers.
With just five months to go until the Agritechnica 2022 show begins, organiser DLG (the German Agricultural Society) says it expects around 2,000 exhibitors from 50 countries to be present at the show in Hannover. It adds that its Agritechnica Tracker 2021 survey suggests that visitor interest “continues to grow” as well, with approximately 94 per cent of respondents indicating they will attend next year’s fair and 58 per cent already certain that they will be there.
Ascenso Tyres UK has sponsored World Champion Clay Pidgeon Shooter, Kallum Burrell. The partnership between Ascenso Tyres UK and Kallum Burrell will commence with immediate effect, supporting him through his winter training and into the new season in April, throughout 2022 and beyond. Handled exclusively by BAB Distribution, part of the BA Bush Group, since April, the off-highway brand provides a range of agricultural, industrial, and commercial tyres.
Harvest time is drawing to a close, but farmers needn’t fear withdrawal symptoms during the colder months. Farming Simulator 22 is due for release on 22 November and will deliver new vehicles, maps, brand, production chains and crops. The Continental brand will be present in the Giants Software game too, with agricultural machinery and supporting vehicles wearing Continental tyres for the first time.
The Alliance agricultural portfolio has grown with the addition of further sizes for the following tyre ranges: Alliance 372 VF for tractors, Alliance 363 VF row crop for tractors and sprayers, and Alliance 585 for telehandlers backhoe and compact loaders. Introducing these new arrivals, Angelo Noronha, Yokohama Off-Highway Tires’ president for Europe, states that they come in response to “enormous interest.”
