During May’s Reifen show in Germany, Chinese tyre manufacturer Aeolus Tyre Co. Ltd placed a focus on direct contact with the tyre trade. Prior to the start of the trade exhibition, the company said “technology, marketing and the latest information on its passenger car, SUV and van tyres” would be key areas of interest, and it brought a brand new product to Essen in the form of its ‘4Seasonace’ all-season tyre. The stand was rounded out with examples of Aeolus’ latest truck and earthmover tyre technologies. Furthermore, chairman of the company’s board, Wang Feng, travelled to Essen, and during his time there he granted Tyres & Accessories an interview.
Leading UK commercial vehicle tyre wholesaler Kings Road Tyres (KRT) launched its latest addition to a portfolio of exclusive TBR tyre brands at its Reifen 2014 stand. It will distribute the Jinyu manufactured Blacklion brand in the UK exclusively, with stocks available from the third quarter of 2014, KRT says.
The Aeolus stand at Reifen 2014 highlighted the brand’s significant development in various European markets over the last year, with a well-proportioned stand in Hall 3 for the first time. Director of EU and CIS, Chen Lei told Tyrepress that the brand has been promoting its European business with an emphasis on shows in 2014.
Aeolus Tyre has appointed Koem Grupo Comercial S.L. its consumer segment distributor in Spain, Andorra and the Spanish islands. The arrangement gives Koem exclusive distribution of Aeolus’ passenger car, van and SUV tyre ranges.
According to Greek mythology, Aeolus was the ruler of the winds, and for this reason Aeolus Tyres’ Western Europe general manager considers sponsoring a participant in the Volvo Ocean Race 2014/2015 highly appropriate. At a press conference in the French seaport of Lorient, Thomas Wohlgemuth said the sponsorship deal with the DongFeng Racing Team had “set the sails towards the right direction” and will aid Aeolus in its goal of positioning itself at the apex of its business segment.
Aeolus has announced its membership of German tyre dealer association BRV. The Chinese brand says it will cooperate on bilateral work with the association. Wang Feng, general director of Aeolus Tyres said: “As a Chinese tyre manufacturer, we are particularly proud to become a sustaining member of the German association. We look forward to providing support for the regulations and the major tasks in this very important branch of the specialised trade within the scope of our capabilities.”
Heuver Tyrewholesale will exhibit the range of Aeolus tyres it distributes in some European markets from Hall 2, Stand 2E48. Heuver says it maintains an active trade fair schedule with a lot of time for maintaining and expanding customer relations, while also highlighting the latest Aeolus brand products. Heuver will also feature the Athlete brand of wheels, and the latest agricultural tyres by Linglong, with whom Heuver has established an exclusive contract in some European markets.
Alliance Tire Americas, Inc. is now an official sponsor of the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA), according to the association the world’s oldest and most respected truck and tractor pulling sanctioning organization. NPTA reports that the three-year deal will “raise awareness for the Alliance brand by exposing it to fans attending tractor pulls across the Midwest and South, as well as to the thousands who follow the action on RFD-TV and online.”

The wholesaler says its trade fair schedule features a lot of time for maintaining and expanding customer relations, while also highlighting the latest products by its important and exclusive (in eight markets) brand Aeolus. In terms of wheel rims, Heuver will give specific attention to the Athlete brand. It will also focus on the latest agricultural tyres by LingLong, which Heuver distributes in a number of markets. The Heuver stand can be found in Hall 2, stand number 2E48.
France’s Groupe Massa (MPSA) has been appointed the sole national importer for the Aeolus consumer tyre range, which was first introduced into Europe last year. The company began supplying Aeolus products to the French market at the start of February and has accompanied its new distribution with an advertising campaign.
While premium tyre manufacturers are notably providing more application-specific products to the coach and bus sector, the move to specialisation does not end in the higher-priced market segment. Kings Road Tyres (KRT), one of the UK’s leading wholesale suppliers of specialist tyres to the bus and coach sector, explains that its exclusive brands Matador and Aeolus both offer coach and bus tyres for use in urban environs with mid-range and budget price tags.
As part of its recent agreement to distribute the full range of Aeolus PCR tyres, Kings Road Tyres is now offering UK stockists exclusive access to the Crossace AS02 SUV tyre. The tyre has a category B wet grip rating, which demonstrates its strong water dispersion qualities. According to the company, the Crossace line has been designed for “comfortable and relaxed driving in road traffic and for light off-road use”.
Aeolus has extended its exclusive UK distribution agreement with Kings Road Tyres (KRT) to include its passenger car tyre range. The fast growing tyre manufacturer, noted in European tyre markets mainly for its OTR and commercial vehicle products, has previously announced its intention to exhibit its PCR products on its stand at Reifen 2014, held at Messe Essen on 27-30 May. KRT previously announced its intention to give a then unnamed PCR range its UK market debut in Manchester at October’s Brityrex International exhibition.
Aeolus Co. Ltd. reports that it will be showcasing its entire range of passenger car tyres, bolstered by truck and EM product lines at the forthcoming Reifen show, which will run 27-30 May 2014.
