On 5 February 2025, Accuride Wheels Europe & Asia GmbH applied to initiate insolvency proceedings for its plants in Solingen and Ronneburg, Germany. The proceedings opened on 1 May, with Dr Jan Markus Plathner from legal firm Brinkmann & Partner appointed insolvency administrator. While operations will continue at the Solingen facility, the plant in Ronneburg will be wound up.
Accuride Corporation has announced that its two manufacturing facilities in Germany have filed for insolvency. In a statement issued earlier today, the wheel and automotive components manufacturer shares that European subsidiary, Accuride Wheels Europe & Asia GmbH, filed for insolvency on 5 February 2025.
In the USA, Accuride Corporation and “certain of its U.S. and Canadian affiliates” has filed a voluntary Chapter 11 petition and commenced proceedings in Canada under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act. Restructuring is expected to be completed in 90-100 days. “All plants continue to operate”, according to the wheelmaker. Accuride’s Mexican, European, and Asian subsidiaries are not included in the filings.

Accuride Corporation reported this week that three of its facilities, including two of its wheel plants, have received 2019 Masters of Quality awards from Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA). The awarded plants are the Accuride de México facility in Monterrey, which supplies DTNA with aluminium and steel wheels and is a seven-time awardee; the Henderson plants in Kentucky, USA, which supplies DTNA with steel wheels and is a three-time award recipient; the Rockford factory in Illinois, USA, which supplies Gunite wheel hub, drums, and brake rotors and is a fifth-time awardee.
From 1 June, Robin Kendrick will take over as president and chief executive officer of Accuride Corporation. He succeeds Jason Luo, who has held both positions on an interim basis since 7 January following the resignation of Richard Dauch.

Accuride Corporation’s steel wheel manufacturing plant in Henderson (Kentucky, UK) is one of four companies receiving a 2014 Manufacturing Excellence Award from non-profit enterprise improvement organisation the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME). An AME will visit the plant today to present the award, and Accuride will also be honoured during the 2014 AME International Excellence Inside Conference, which will be held in Florida between 10 and 14 November.
