After postponing the event scheduled for November 2020, the organiser of EIMA International is planning to hold its agricultural machinery trade fair in Bologna next February. But not all exhibitors are convinced this is the right decision. In light of the ongoing coronavirus situation, tyre maker BKT has chosen not to take part in the show and instead will promote its products via digital media.
A new tyre from BKT offers a solution to anyone needing to minimise soil compaction in confined areas. The BKT Agrimax Turf RT 333 is suitable for fitment on small tractors such as those used in gardening applications as well as in orchards and vineyards. The first available sizes in the range are the 280/70 R 16 and 280/70 R 18 front axle dimensions.
While the challenges of the pandemic to the light vehicle markets are familiar due to the day-to-day experiences of people around Europe, commercial, industrial and agricultural markets experienced different levels of lockdown, as many companies in these sectors worked hard to reinforce supply chains. In the tyre wholesale sector, this meant distributors of products and services to these segments needed to stay strong to supply the rubber that kept countries rolling. BKT has launched the BKT Network, a digital TV format hosting new and exclusive videos about the off-road tyre specialist, its products, and its partnerships. BKT said content will include first-hand accounts from users around the globe, behind-the-scenes looks at sports sponsorships, exhibitions, CSR activities. and more. “The initiative also comes about as a direct link with users, with partners and distributors, with the whole range of audiences,” says Arvind Poddar, BKT chairman, in the network’s launch episode. “The need to reduce the distances dictated by the current situation has never been so relevant. We want to remain in contact with everyone.”
Off-road tyre specialist BKT has signed a new sports sponsorship deal. The Indian group will be a Premium Partner of EuroLeague Basketball, organiser of the two most prestigious European basketball club competitions, over the next three years until the 2022/23 season. The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and the 7DAYS EuroCup bring together 42 teams, representing 14 countries. BKT branding will be present at the first round of 2020/21 season games on 1-2 October. It will be displayed on LED systems, Jumbotrons and on-site initiatives. BKT will also gain television exposure via graphics and headers and pre- and post-game interview backdrops. BKT will also appear on EuroLeague and EuroCup digital and social media.
BKT says it is “ready to take up the challenge” of developing tyres for the coming generation of self-driving and electric off-highway vehicles. The tyre maker is already addressing changes within the agricultural and construction sectors with a range of solutions, drawing upon its almost 30-year experience and in dialogue with end-users.
Off-highway tyre specialist Balkrishna Industries Limited (BKT) reports the resignation of its chief financial officer, B K Bansal. The tyre maker shared on 28 August that Mr Bansal “has been relieved with immediate effect” and succeeded by M S Bajaj, who takes on the company’s financial responsibility as CFO alongside his existing role as President (Commercial).
OTR and agricultural tyre manufacturer BKT is extending its sponsorship of the shortest form of professional cricket, following its deal with Australia’s Big Bash League. In the 2020 season of the Indian Premier League, the most high-profile domestic T20 event, the multinational group from India will support Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals.
The second BKT-sponsored Tractor of the Year digital episode has been published. Having looked at connectivity, the new focus is now on the driving experience and how it is becoming increasingly automated.
BKT is launching three new Earthmax models which, according to the company, will complete the range. The new tyres are the Earthmax SR 412 – a 29.5R25 tyre designed to equip articulated dump trucks with a tread pattern that optimises traction; the Earthmax SR 475 – specially developed for rigid dump trucks, and available in size 18.00 R 33; and the Earthmax SR 452 – previewed at the ConExpo 2020 fair in Las Vegas last March, the size 24.00R35 tyre was developed for rigid trucks requiring greater traction and stability on uneven terrain.
BKT has introduced two new Maglift forklift tyres, the Maglift Eco and Maglift Premium. Both tyres are particularly “wear and cut resistant” thanks to BKT’s rubber compound. The manufacturer has employed a softer mixture for the comfort of the operator in the middle part of the tyre section.
Ligue de Football Professionel (LFP), the body which governs the French football leagues, officially presented the new identity of the 2020/21 Ligue 2 season this month. And, from 1 July 2020 it will be called Ligue 2 BKT. The title sponsorship agreement runs through to June 2024.
Agricultural and industrial tyre specialists manufacturer BKT launched the new Liftmax LM 63 on 14 May 2020. The tyremaker describes its later offering as “a perfect mix of resistance, stability, and comfort.” Meanwhile, BKT will soon release a range of new sizes for its Liftmax LM 81 and Container King tyres.
The Tractor of the Year (TotY) awards have a new partner – off-highway tyre specialist BKT. The partnership begins today and will last for a period of four years.
With the approval of local authorities, BKT has restarted tyre production, albeit still on a partial basis, in all its plants in India. The off-highway tyre specialist has also resumed supply and delivery to both the OEM and aftermarket channels.
