Industrial fibre producer Teijin Aramid has won a certificate from EcoVadis, an independent sustainability rating platform, that identifies the company as a gold partner for its sustainability efforts in the automotive market.
After six years of manufacturing solid tyres in Sri Lanka, STARCO is looking forward to expanding its distribution of these products globally. Tyres & Accessories recently spoke to Richard Todd, the company’s chief executive officer; he shared that establishing relationships with distributors in Asia and the Middle East was currently a priority for STARCO.

Autopromotec was Prometeon’s first public outing, so Tyres & Accessories interviewed chief operating officer (COO), Murilo Fonseca, during the recent Autopromotec exhibition in Bologna to find out more about the strategy behind the moves.
Liberty Hall Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused exclusively on investments in businesses serving the global aerospace and defence industry, has acquired Dunlop Aircraft Tyres Ltd. in a transaction valued at US$135 million. Dunlop Aircraft Tyres represents Liberty Hall’s first portfolio company focused on providing aftermarket products and services to the global aerospace and defence industry. A number of tyre makers had previously been linked with the sale of Dunlop Aircraft Tyres.

Each of the UK’s public sector ambulance services fits Michelin tyres on a first-choice policy. Giti Tire will sponsor Team BRIT (British Racing Injured Troops) in the Fun Cup endurance championship. The manufacturer is the official tyre partner for the series, and will supply Team BRIT cars with its Giti GTR2 competition racing tyres. The sponsorship increases the manufacturer’s involvement in the series; it is also running a car with its GT Radial brand in the 2017 series.
Under a new partnership with NFL Canada, Nokian Tyres has become the official sponsor of the National Football League in Canada through to Super Bowl LIV in 2020.

Pirelli will bring around 3,000 P Zero tyres to Silverstoe for the second round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo. The P Zero DHD will be fitted to the entire Blancpain GT grid, provisionally of 55 cars, while the DH slick will be supplied to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo. With rain a possibility, Pirelli will also bring its WH tyre for all categories.
