Drivers don’t know cars are collecting their data
25th November 2024While cars and their tyres becoming increasingly “intelligent”, the majority of car owners don’t know their vehicle could be collecting data about their driving schedules (72%) and live location (44%), amongst other things. According to research commissioned by Uswitch, less than a third (28%) of car owners read the terms and conditions or data agreements around their car’s data collection capabilities.

Progress for Pyrum Innovations despite another quarter in the red

Pyrum Innovations has been actively developing its thermolysis technology for 16 years now, and during this time attracted the attention and favour of major tyre industry players. Sustainable tyre manufacturing took a step forward in 2021 when Pirelli introduced the first Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified tyre, designed specifically for the BMW X5 plug-in hybrid. Tomorrow, the European Parliament will vote on a proposed amendment to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) that would postpone its date of entry into application from 30 December 2024 to 30 December 2025, and until 30 June 2026 for small and micro-enterprises, and delay the benchmarking deadline to 30 June 2025. The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers' Association (ETRMA) warns against this postponement.
