Apollo Tyres: Netherlands car tyre production down, but not out

Passenger car tyre production and capacity at Apollo Tyres’ Gyöngyöshalász plant in Hungary has steadily grown over the past two years. These respectively reached 2.1 million and almost 3 million units a year by the end of March 2019, and Apollo is still ramping up in Hungary. It’s a different story in Enschede, some 700 miles to the west, but Apollo Tyres says it isn’t preparing to end car tyre production in the Netherlands any time soon.

Wholesaler Fintyre has gained exclusive Italian market distribution of the entire Triangle PCR portfolio, including the recently-presented overhauled Triangle tyre range for Europe. Triangle Tyre chose the European Fintyre Distribution (EfTD) member company thanks to its “extensive distribution coverage, its competence that distinguishes the company and its widespread presence on the Italian territory.”

Dunlop: 3 new motorcycle tyres on their way

Three new Dunlop motorcycle tyres are scheduled for release in the second half of the year, and with this trio the tyre brand aims to create its “strongest-ever portfolio. The planned launches include a retro-styled tyre featuring modern technology, a new addition to the Geomax range and a trail tyre that “promises to showcase Dunlop’s interpretation for this trendsetting segment.”

Apollo Vredestein’s UK operation has announced its partnership with British Jaguar E-Type specialist Eagle E-Types. The company’s range of handcrafted models, famous worldwide, run on Vredestein high performance tyres, which the tyre brand says reflects its classic car heritage and “sensitivity for that market’s unique demands…coupled with its focus on contemporary performance.”

Tyre Recovery Association Forum day welcomes record numbers

The 2019 TRA annual forum day attracted record numbers of delegates to its annual day conference held at the Ardencote Manor Hotel on Tuesday 18 June. Numerous topics were covered during the day, but the TRA’s calls for government support in pursuit of its goals; details of the association’s recent tag technology trial details; and the launch of a tyre recovery industry-specific Fire Prevention Plan stood out. More than 90 delegates were in attendance.

Apollo Tyres introduces EnduMaxx brand in India

Apollo Tyres has introduced the Endumaxx brand of tyres for light trucks in India. The company described light truck radial demand as having “a potential of 112,000 tyres per month in India, and it is growing at a much faster pace than any other segment”.
