Maxxis aims to address increasing high performance demand with Premitra HP5

In recent years, demand for high performance and UHP tyres has increased considerably (see GfK data earlier in this section). However, this trend has also resulted in greater complexity in the market. Current trends see more small cars and family saloons being fitted with 16, 17, 18 and 19 inch rims, and as a result, motorists are requiring bigger, but better performing, tyres. Deldo views market developments as a welcome change

It’s been the same old story for too long now – cheap tyres, overcapacity and low margins. For at least the last five years, Europe’s wholesalers have watched these factors eat too much of their profits. But has the page now turned? Deldo’s Tom Van Dyck thinks it has. In March, he shared with Tyres & Accessories his hope and expectation that current developments within the raw materials and logistics markets may give tyre industry players a new opportunity to make decent money.

Acquisition a further step in T.T.I. growth strategy

Peter-Alexander van ‘t Hof was only 13 years old when he attended his first tyre trade show, the Reifen show in Essen. An unorthodox venue for a freshly-minted teenager to spend his free time, however van ‘t Hof says he “found rubber cool” back then. He tells Tyres & Accessories that he still does, which is a good thing indeed, as three decades later the owner and director of Tyre Trading International (T.T.I.) spends much of his day dealing with the black, rubbery rings.

Stapleton’s exclusive brands designed to give retailers the edge

In any sphere of driving, from motorsports to day-to-day motoring, peak performance doesn’t come cheap – and that goes for the tyres as much as for the vehicles themselves. After all, when you’ve invested in a prestige, state of the art vehicle you won’t want to sully its perfection with tyres that are in any way inferior to those fitted as original equipment – especially since they’re the parts transmitting your vehicle’s raw power to the tarmac and turn it into adrenaline and acceleration.
