Maxam Tire has brought its EcoPoint3 technology to the material handling sector with the introduction of the MS600 press-on solid tyre. The Sailun Group specialty tyre business considers the use of this new rubber compounding technology a transformative step that provides an “unrivalled solution” for users of forklift tyres.
By the end of 2022, drivers in the UK will be able to equip their vehicles with Continental summer or all-season tyres made using polyester from recycled PET bottles. Continental calls this sustainable material ContiRe.Tex and began incorporating it into some tyre lines in April. Although the war in Ukraine and subsequent sanctions continue to “cause significant uncertainty” for Nokian Tyres’ operating environment, especially in regards to its business in Russia, on Friday the company reported that demand for its tyres has nonetheless remained good. Kia has selected Continental tyres as original equipment for its new Niro. In European, Middle East and African markets, it will deliver the fully-electric version of its SUV with Continental EcoContact 6 Q tyres in size 215/55 R17 94V. Plug-in hybrid models of the Niro will roll on the PremiumContact 6, which Kia will fit in size 225/45 R18 95V XL FR.
Nankang Rubber Tire Corp. Ltd. has announced that it has completed the re-election of directors and appointed Lin Junying as its general manager. According to Taiwan media reports, Lin Junying is the eldest daughter of Lin Xuepu, the deceased honorary chairman of Nankang and also an amateur racing driver.
Netherlands based, family-owned OTR tyre manufacturer Magna Tyres returned to the Tire Cologne show last month with a determined agenda to meet once more with their growing worldwide customer base.

Backed by energy giant Vitol, Wastefront secured planning permission in January 2022 to build the £100 million tyre recycling plant in Sunderland, which is set to be commercially operational by 2024. Once at full capacity, the plant is designed to be able to manage 20 per cent of the UK’s total ELTs through processing 80,000 tonnes annually. Gateway Resources will supply Wastefront with nearly 10 million tyres every year.

ZC Rubber has launched new flagship tyres in its Westlake and Goodride European ultra-high performance car tyre ranges at The Tire Cologne 2022. The Westlake ZuperAce Z-007 and Goodride Solmax 1 are designed to deliver quieter running, increased grip, and handling performance, ZC Rubber says. The manufacturer adds that it has upgraded the tyre structure with core technologies from ZC Rubber, BPOT technology and Hybrid formula. The Westlake ZuperAce Z-007 and Goodride Solmax 1 will be available in ranges of 17-22 inch sizes for the European market starting in June 2022. Both tyres will be fully introduced throughout Europe and Southeast Asia in the second half of 2022, following the initial roll-out.
Agricultural tyre brand Ascenso has appointed Gregg Foster, of Abbey Tyre Co and BA Bush, as the new Ascenso field and sales manager in the UK following a lengthy interview process. BAB Distribution, BA Bush’s wholesale arm which is the official distribution partner of the brand in the UK, and Ascenso jointly state that Foster performed excellently in the interview stage and his passion for the brand is what ultimately led to his appointment.
Russian firm PSJC Tatneft has signed an agreement to sell its tyre business, and as such is transferring Kama Tyres to JSC Tatneftekhiminvest-Holding.
