Falken’s latest cold weather tyre offering is set to make its UK market debut this winter in September. Two specifications will be available: the Eurowinter HS02 and HS02 Pro. Both tyres represent the next generation of Falken’s cold-weather range. They offer significant improvements over their predecessor, the HS01, according to the manufacturer.

Earlier this month, Prometeon Tyre Group (PTG) became the main sponsor of Italian football club Parma Calcio. Its multi-year agreement with the club, which currently plays in the second-tier Serie B league, gives the tyre maker a presence on players’ shirts and within their home stadium. Falken is an original equipment tyre on the latest Nissan X-Trail, which launched in Japan in July and will be unveiled in the UK on 6 September. Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) is supplying the Falken Ziex ZE310A Ecorun to Nissan Motor Corporation in size 235/60R18 103H.
During the three months to 30 June 2022, Apollo Tyres Ltd. respectively recorded 38 per cent and 14 per cent year-on-year increases in its Indian and European operations. Total revenue from operations for this, the first quarter of the tyre maker’s 2022-23 financial year, amounted to Rs 59.42 billion (£614.72 million) and was 26.9 per cent higher than during the previous year’s first quarter.
As part of an ongoing partnership with Škoda, Bridgestone has developed tyres featuring its Enliten technology for the all-electric Škoda Enyaq iV. Bridgestone Corporation has extended Enliten to the light truck segment, and next month will introduce the first Bridgestone truck tyres featuring the weight and rolling resistance technology.
BKT Tyres, as well as Australian businesses Tradefaire International and Macmahon, have developed chain-ready underground mining tyres in what the three companies describe as a world first. The new OTR tyres will be launched in September 2022.
Today is a big day for the Bridgestone team tasked with developing tyres containing natural rubber derived from the guayule desert shrub. An all-new Firestone race tyre with a sidewall made with this rubber makes its competition debut at this weekend’s IndyCar Series racing in Nashville, USA.

Falken has been nominated for an International Motor Film Award in the Best Event Film category for its Nürburgring 24 hour race feature, ‘A Declaration of Love’. The brand previously won the prize in 2021 with its short film ‘Whatever Comes Our Way’. Production company Motionctrl, Falken’s long-term video collaborator shot the nominated film on location. Following the return of the in-person day conference on 7 July, TyreSafe announced the winners of the 2022 TyreSafe Awards during the evening’s awards dinner. The awards are TyreSafe’s leading event of the year and highlight “the outstanding work that goes on across the UK to educate the driving public about tyre safety”. After a two-year hiatus, TyreSafe representatives say they were “delighted to once again be able to unite leading names in road safety and tyre safety champions, to celebrate the achievements of our award nominees”.
