Hyundai chooses Continental tyres for Tucson SUV

Hyundai Motor Group has approved three Continental tyre models for its Tucson SUV. Bush Tyres opens new Wakefield depot

BA Bush & Son has opened a new commercial depot in Wakefield. BA Bush says it will invest significantly in new mobile tyre fitting technologies and vans based at the new site to deal with the growing number of agricultural and commercial fleet customers who live in and around Wakefield. The depot is backed by the company’s tyre distribution arm, BAB Distribution, and will link up strategically with the company’s existing network of branches. With nearby branches in Rotherham, Knaresborough and Goole, this group can serve the thousands of businesses and farmers who live and work in that catchment area.

Nokian Tyres Q1 2024 financial results

Nokian Tyres has released its financial results for the first quarter of 2024, showcasing a resilient performance despite several challenges. The company reported net sales of 236.6 million euros for the period spanning January to March 2024, largely unchanged from the 236.4 million euros in the same period last year. When adjusted for comparable currencies, net sales saw a modest increase of 1.4 per cent.

Pirelli bringing new wet GT tyre into second DTM season

Pirelli has evolved its Cinturato WHB to develop a new wet weather tyre for Gran Turismo cars that is “completely renewed in design and optimised in its main performance features.” The tyre maker will provide the tyre for all GT championships in which it is involved, beginning with the start of this year’s DTM and ADAC GT Masters championship, which Pirelli is serving as sole tyre supplier for a second season.

Pirelli completes Lamborghini Urus supply with tyres for PHEV

Pirelli and Lamborghini have jointly created bespoke 21-inch, 22-inch, and 23-inch P Zero tyres, as well as a 22-inch Scorpion Winter 2 tyre, for the new Urus SE, the first plug-in hybrid variant of Lamborghini’s SUV. The tyre maker says the “long and intensive combined development programme” that led to these tyres’ development included test driving at more than 185 mph at the Nardò circuit in Italy as well as -30° in the Arctic Circle.

Cambrian Tyres distributing Ceat two-wheeler range

Two-wheeler tyre specialist Cambrian Tyres has been appointed official UK importer for the Ceat motorcycle and scooter tyre range. This partnership extends to Ceat’s full range of original equipment fitments used by Royal Enfield and solidifies, says the wholesaler, Cambrian Tyres’ position as the “premier provider of high-quality two-wheel tyre brands to the trade.” Initial stocks will be available across various lines from Monday 29 April.
