Q3 new HGV registrations fall by 6%
28th November 2024New heavy goods vehicle (HGV) registrations fell by -6.0 per cent in the third quarter, according to the latest figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The decline was in comparison with Q3 last year, when uptake surged above pre-pandemic levels to fulfil pent-up demand. Demand in Q3 2024 remained robust, at 26.7 per cent above the same quarter in 2019.

Toyo Tire moving east – job cuts in Western, Southern Europe
28th November 2024At a Board of Directors meeting held today, Toyo Tire Corporation approved plans to discontinue the business operations of its European sales subsidiaries, transferring these to a newly established company. From January 2025, Toyo Tyre (UK) Ltd. and three other sales subsidiaries will “successively cease their business activities.”

Pirelli launches new custom-touring, motocross motorcycle tyres for 2025
Pirelli is extending its Diablo and Scorpion motorcycle tyre ranges in 2025 with a new custom-touring tyre and a successor to the Italian brand’s “most successful” Motocross World Championship product. The Diablo Powercruiser is Pirelli's sporty interpretation of the custom-touring tyre for sport Cruisers and Baggers; the Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft will offer 2025 competitors in the FIM Motocross World Championship new rubber to follow an exceptionally successful predecessor.
