Michelin moves away from lugged treads with RoadBib tractor tyre
The latest addition to the Michelin agricultural tyre range is the RoadBib. The new tyre was specifically developed for contractors using 200+HP tractors; Michelin claims the RoadBib is the “first solution on the market” for this tractor category, and therefore the tyre “defines a brand-new segment of the market.” The RoadBib was presented for the first time at the European Drivers Championship 2017 and will be available as of the first quarter of 2018 in the front wheel size 600/70R30 and rear wheel size 710/70R42.

Giti Tire has launched the GT Radial WinterPro2, available for the 2017 winter season in the UK from exclusive PCR distributor Micheldever Tyre Services. The tyre showed wet performance gains while maintaining snow handling against its previous generation and four main competitors in independent tests by Dekra. Giti states that the tests, which were conducted early this year in Rovaniemi, Finland and Fontange, France, confirm the tyre was up to 10 per cent better in wet braking exercises and 2 per cent ahead in wet handling.

Michelin states that its products provide “long lasting performance and maximum safety,” while “helping to deliver better value for the taxpayer.”

Distributor of Xlite and Xlite+ forged aluminium wheels, Motor Wheel Service Distribution (MWSD) has rebranded as MWheels. The move positions the distributor’s European operations under one banner, having established a German company with the MWheels name at the beginning of the year. The new name is in full effect from Monday 22 May 2017, with the name and logo immediately visible on its reworked website, marketing literature and communications. The new corporate identity will be introduced across all product packaging over the coming months. The logo will also replace the Chevron as MWheels’ quality stamp on its steel, Xlite and Xbrite+ forged aluminium wheels.
