Over the last week, Kwik Fit has seen demand for air conditioning recharges more than triple as car owners have battled unprecedented heat. Despite lower traffic volumes, with drivers heeding advice not to travel if possible, last week Kwik Fit saw overall demand for air con services reach 354 per cent of the equivalent figure for last year. Last Sunday, a group of the company’s centres covering the South East and East of England saw demand at more than ten times the same day last year.

The review gave customers their first experience of the zero-tailpipe emission medium-duty truck designed for urban logistics, providing a real-world understanding of the vehicle’s performance, world-first driver-centric cab and innovative safety features. Volta entered a tyre partnership with Bridgestone in August 2020, with the manufacturer supplying tyres to Volta’s pilot fleet since 2021.

BKT supplier and family-run tyre wholesaler RH Claydon (RHC) has announced the official opening date of its new depot in Carlisle’s Kingmoor Park North enterprise zone. From Monday 1 August the site will be open for deliveries and collections between 8 am and 5:30 pm Monday and for collection 9 am to 12 pm Saturdays. This depot is the company’s eighth site and will allow a greater coverage of the north and border areas.

Figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) yesterday show that the UK new light commercial vehicle (LCV) market declined for the sixth consecutive month in June. New registrations fell by 23.0 per cent to 26,443 units. Amid ongoing global supply chain shortages, 144,384 new vans, pickups and 4x4s were registered during the first half of 2022, 24.6 per cent fewer than in the same period last year.
