Leeds City Council opens 1st UK solar-powered, all electric Park and Ride site
Leeds City Council has opened the UK’s first solar powered Park and Ride in Stourton, serviced by electric buses that link the Park and Ride to Leeds city centre. Stourton is Leeds’s third Park and Ride site and the first that is powered by solar modules coupled with a battery storage system, with carbon emissions being reduced by approximately 471,000 KGCO2e in 2022.

To raise money for Cancer Research’s Business Beats Cancer, a charity very important to many people at Ring, the team has decided to brave the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on 14 September. More than 15 team members at Ring are taking part in the Three Peaks challenge in Yorkshire, which will see them climb the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres), all of which need to be completed within 12 hours. Overall, the challenge will see the team take on 40km of walking and 5,200ft of ascent.

During 2023 Kumho Tyre is significantly expanding its truck tyre distribution channels in the UK in order to increase availability. Direct supply has recently been launched from Kumho’s GB warehouse stock and the company reports that it is “actively seeking to partner with specialist truck tyre businesses focused on sales to fleets and other end users”. A national sales manager for truck tyres has also been appointed to lead Kumho’s development programme in the UK commercial tyre market.
