Transaid wins charity grant
Transaid has secured a valuable Movement for Good Award from the Benefact Group, which it will deploy to help save lives by ensuring Ghana’s professional road transport sector continues to grow in a safe and sustainable way. The undisclosed sum forms part of a share of £500,000 being donated by Benefact Group to help charities make a real difference. Transaid joined more than 900 charities applying for the funding after an introduction from the Road Haulage Association, whose insurers, Lloyd White, are part of the Benefact Group.

The NFDA represents franchised car and commercial vehicle retailers across the UK, and the results are representative of the population in relation to UK adults aged 18+. The main objectives of the survey were to explore current consumer perceptions of franchised dealers and their competitors as well as understand consumer behaviour.

SMMT: Best September for vehicles manufacturing since 2020
UK car manufacturing rose by 39.8 per cent in September, with figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) showing that 88,230 vehicles left British factory lines during the month – 25,105 more than during the same month of last year. SMMT considers September a “triple success for the sector,” with it being the strongest month of growth in 2023, the best September since 2020, and UK car making now reaching 659,901 units year to date – some 14.9 per cent above the same period in 2022.

The Epiris Fund III of private equity firm Epiris has acquired GSF Car Parts (GSF). This is the fourth investment for Fund III, and Epiris has not disclosed financial terms. The Ahluwalia Family Office has also co-invested in GSF Car Parts alongside Epiris, marking Sukhpal Ahluwalia’s return to the car afterparts market. Sukhpal Ahluwalia becomes executive chairman of GSF and Steve Horne chief executive officer.
