Davanti Tyres signs three-year partnership with Everton Football Club
Davanti Tyres has signed a commercial partnership deal to make it Everton Football Clubs official tyre partner from 2017. The three-year commercial sponsorship deal was signed in August 2017 by Alan McTavish, Everton Football Club head of commercial partnerships, and Peter Cross, general manager of Davanti Tyres at Goodison Park. Davanti was launched in 2015, and carries more than 10 different tyre patterns, ranging from smaller passenger cars, heavy duty commercial taxis/van tyres, to high-performance SUV/4x4, and winter tyres. Signing a Premier League sponsorship deal, the brand targets the global audience offered by the competition.

Cenex – the UK’s first Centre of Excellence for low carbon technologies – has announced its involvement in the UK’s largest trial of biomethane-fuelled lorries. Led by Air Liquide – world leader in gases, technologies and services for industry and health – and funded in part by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles in partnership with Innovate UK via the recently launched Low Emission Freight and Logistics Project, the ‘Dedicated to Gas’ trial will see large fleet operators including Kuehne + Nagel, Wincanton, ASDA, Brit European, Howard Tenens and Great Bear, trial the effectiveness of 81 dedicated gas-powered heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).

New research from Milton Keynes-based Just Tyres reveals drivers’ awareness of 2012’s EU tyre label legislation is low. More than two thirds (67 per cent) of drivers are unaware of EU legislation and only just under a sixth of drivers (15.5 per cent) even knew that the legislation existed. Back in 2012, the tyre industry experienced a major shake up when EU tyre labelling for all UK tyre manufacturers, distributors and retailers was introduced. From then on, every tyre needed to be tested and measured for three specific ratings; fuel efficiency, wet grip and noise levels.
