Middleton Manufacturing goes big on Britishness with car mats range
Middleton Manufacturing has begun a campaign to promote its UK manufacturing heritage. The UK’s largest supplier of mats manufactured in the UK is urging retailers to “seize on the demand for British products that promote green and ethical benefits.” It states that CO2 emissions produced as a result of the logistics and production processes involved are significantly less when compared against an overseas alternative.

Magna Tyres Group has signed a new partnership with UK rubber track supplier Sly Agri Ltd. The strategic agreement enables Sly Agri to purchase and resell the Rubber Track retread for the agricultural sector. The contract was signed by George Sly and Stephan van Leeuwen during the LAMMA Show in Birmingham.

Private demand increased by 2.9 per cent, while fleet was down -3.4 per cent.

It is not unusual for the start of the year to be replete with corporate acquisitions. Some even happen while much of the western world is enjoying Christmas and new year holidays. While European FinTyre Distribution (EfTD) did indeed enact the latest move in its ongoing strategic purchasing programme during the 2018 holiday break, it seems that this year February was the month of choice for getting the chequebooks out, with Bridgestone, Michelin and – in the UK at least – Goodyear all announcing strategic spending. Burton Albion, Pirelli raise £3000 for The Brain Tumour Charity
Funds raised by football fans parking at the Pirelli site on Derby Road have helped to raise £3000 for The Brain Tumour Charity. Pirelli and Burton Albion FC have worked together for a number of years, and more recently supporters have been using the Pirelli car park – next to the Pirelli Stadium – on match days. In total, £2,500 has been raised by this activity. Pirelli itself donated an additional £500 to bring the overall amount donated to The Brain Tumour Charity to £3,000. This follows a similar donation in 2017, when £2,500 was raised.
