Liqui Moly becomes BTCC Official Partner
German motor oil and additive manufacturer Liqui Moly will enter into an “Official Oil and Lubricants Partnership” with the British touring car racing series (BTCC) in the current 2024 season. “The BTCC is not only a firm fixture in motorsport throughout the United Kingdom, but also attracts fans worldwide,” says Debbie Barnes, Managing Director of Liqui Moly UK, who is delighted about the contract.

Off-highway tyre specialist BKT Tires has entered into an official partnership with The Hundred, the ECB 100-ball cricket competition that will take the field at various locations across the UK from 23 July. As part of this partnership, BKT’s logo will feature on the sleeves of all eight teams’ playing kits across the men’s and women’s competitions in this, The Hundred’s fourth season. BKT advertising will also be showcased in sportsgrounds throughout the entire tournament.

The facility set up by Carlton Forest Renewables as the UK’s first continuous pyrolysis plant for recycling end-of-life tyres now has a new owner following parent company Green Forest Solutions entering administration in March. David Ashurst, managing director of Motherwell-based tyre recycler UK Rubber, and Richard Martin, who recently acquired the Carlton Forest site where the plant is housed, have purchased the Worksop-based facility. They are now operating it under the business name Carbon Oil Renewables Ltd.

The Poole-based company, which maintains over a million vehicles on UK roads, says that fleets can make significant cost savings with a tyre policy based on the right tyre for their vehicle and operating behaviour (including load, start-stop and how they drive). In one recent tyre spend analysis, i247 Group found savings in excess of £1million.

Ford is to blame for an ‘unprecedented breakdown in industrial relations’ with its white collar staff, the Unite union said today (15 July), as more than 1,200 office staff ballot for strike action across the country. Around 500 Ford managers already have an industrial action mandate and are continuing with industrial action short of strikes. Both sets of workers, who are based in Dunton, Stratford, Dagenham, Daventry and Halewood, are in dispute with Ford and are considering coordinated strike action.
