Delphi Technologies expands brake range
Delphi Technologies has added to its aftermarket braking range in Europe. In 2019 the company launched more than 130 new brake pads and discs for popular new vehicles, including a growing parc of Asian applications and hybrid and electric cars. Fitted to an additional 19 million vehicles, the company now offers more than 97 per cent coverage on brake discs and 98.58 per cent on pads, in Europe.

Nascar Euro’s Jeffs joins GT Radial for VW Fun Cup at Thruxton
Nascar Whelan Euro Series driver Scott Jeffs will join the GT Radial team for their next VW Fun Cup race in Thruxton on 22 August. Jeffs is a former Mini Challenge UK Cooper S Class champion, and became Alex Sedgwick’s Elite 2 partner in the no.90 AST Suspension Chevrolet Camaro for Braxx Racing. He will race at Thruxton with Brian McDermott, country manager – UK and Ellis Hadley, senior test engineer at Giti Tire.

Michelin launches Zen@Terra agricultural tyre pressure system in UK
Michelin has launched its latest agricultural tyre technology in the UK. Zen@Terra connects directly into the tractor’s ISOBUS system. It allows farmers to switch between low pressures, for maximum soil protection, and higher pressures, to maximise performance on the road. The system is designed for fitment in combination with a central tyre inflation system (CTIS) and Michelin’s Ultraflex tyre range – although it can be used with any Michelin agricultural tyre. Michelin adds that the process takes a matter of minutes and can be operated via an easy-to-use, integrated in-cab touch-screen display.

The majority of car owners have taken advantage of the six-month extension announced by the government in March to delay getting an MOT, according to a YouGov poll commissioned by The Motor Ombudsman. The study of 765 individuals in Great Britain, who have a car of three or more years of age, and that had an existing MOT certificate expiring between 30 March and 31 July 2020, revealed that 56 per cent had exercised their right to prolong taking their vehicle to a garage for the compulsory annual test.

Hankook renews support for Air Ambulance Service
Hankook Tyre UK has renewed its partnership with the Air Ambulance Service, first established with the first sets of tyres supplied in 2017. The tyre manufacturer provide tyres for its Rapid Response Critical Care car fleet, which supports its helicopter fleet, throughout 2020. Since the partnership began, the Air Ambulance Service have been able to switch to operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and have extended their car fleet with the addition of two new Škoda Kodiaqs.
