HiQ2U mobile tyre fitting now available in the Midlands
Goodyear’s HiQ fast fit network has launched its HiQ2U mobile tyre fitting service across the Midlands. This service is now available across the Midlands from Coventry to Birmingham and includes the surrounding areas. Motorists can receive tyres and tyre fitting services at their doorstep between 7:00am and 7:00pm Monday to Friday and between 8:30am and 12:30pm on Saturdays.

Wheely-Safe signs deal with Translink after successful trial
Translink has signed a contract to protect its entire 1,400-strong bus and coach fleet with the latest generation Wheely-Safe technology. The deal was secured following a successful trial that highlighted the unique safety benefits of the system. Northern Ireland’s biggest public transport provider will now roll out the full suite of Wheely-Safe’s intelligent tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), wheel loss and brake temperature sensing systems over the course of the next 12 months.

Having been appointed to the role in June, Higgins will now work with the board to “manage and control the companies within the group to ensure financial and regulatory requirements are fulfilled”. Chris Higgins’ career spans over 20 years and includes 12 years as finance director for Kwik-Fit Fleet.

SharkEye introduces three new wheel aligners
SharkEye introduced three new wheel aligners in June – the BigEye, the Husky and the Ibex. Pitched as “the ultimate in car and LCV laser wheel alignment”, the BigEye takes its cue from the company’s Zubra Truck multi-axle aligner, which is designed to enable precise interaxle alignment. According to SharkEye representatives, the BigEye is the only laser aligner on the global market that offers its “unique and simple way of completely aligning a vehicle’s axles”. The machine can also be used as a standard four-wheel laser aligner and, just like all SharkEye products, is handmade in Sheffield, England.
