Bandvulc to supply Continental, retread tyres, support to MC Rental
MC Rental has appointed Bandvulc as its national tyre supplier and administrator. Bandvulc Plus+ will control all of the company’s tyre related transactions through its 24/7 call facility in Devon. In conjunction with MC Rental, BVPlus+ will be expanding its service outlets to accommodate some of MC Rental’s exiting suppliers and will be utilising its national network of Key Partners across the UK. Tyre provision nationally is Bandvulc and Continental with all used tyres being returned to Devon for inspection, reuse, and disposal.

Shanks Waste Management has selected Vacu-Lug Traction Tyres to manage its commercial vehicle tyres for a number of recycling centres throughout the UK. Using Vacu-Lug’s bespoke web-based VMS software programme, each Shanks vehicle is individually managed to provide a full monitoring, repair and tyre husbandry service. This includes Shanks’ entire fleet of delivery and collection vehicles, including roll-on-roll-off hook-lifts with drawbar trailers and a mixture of plant and OTR wheeled equipment.

Bandvulc managing director Patrick O’Connell, who started in the family tyre retreading business by working on the factory floor in his school holidays, stepped down as MD of the Bandvulc group of companies on 1 May 2017. According to the company, he will now “spend more time on other projects within Continental”, Bandvulc’s owner since the tyre giant purchased the retreader and fleet business last July.

Galgo has extended its portfolio of pre-cure treads for winter use. The Mexican materials supplier reports that six additional winter tread patterns are now branded with the Snow Flake symbol. These “Winter Range” patterns are eligible for 3PMSF certification after passing the tests set out in ECE – 109R Annex 10 and thus demonstrating their increased grip and traction performance.
