The Marangoni Ringtread ‘MIX’ range has grown with the addition of a new pattern, the Blackline MIX202. Marangoni Retreading Systems describes the MIX202 drive axle tyre as “an innovative pattern designed for use on the drive axle of vehicles operating in mixed road/quarry applications requiring high mileage in very demanding surfaces.”

Portuguese retreader Recauchutagem 31 has celebrated 50 years in the business with a celebration attended by some 400 guests. From humble beginnings with just five employees and a 400 square metre facility in 1969, the retreader has grown over the years into a business that employs 88 and produces up to 500 tyres a day in sizes up to and including 27.00R49. Commenting on the company’s half century, Carlos Marques, chief executive officer of Recauchutagem 31, said: “Many thanks to our employers, our suppliers and our customers for help us these 50 years working with the best quality.”

Marangoni Retreading Systems has expanded its Ringtread business in the Benelux countries. The Italian retreading specialist has entered into a partnership with Kargro Group company Tyre Plan Europe, signing an exclusivity agreement for the use of Marangoni’s retreading technology in the region. Tyre Plan Europe BVBA was established in 1988 in Kalmthout, Belgium and until recently operated as a Bandag franchisee. The newest partner in the Ringtread business has developed into one of the region’s largest pre-cure retreaders over the years.

The Tyre Recovery Association (TRA) has announced the completion of a digital tyre tracking trial. Conducted with TRA member Fraser Evans & Sons Ltd and technology partner PragmatIC. The trial used Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) tags. The tags were fixed to the tyre by the collector, who assigned them to their future use, for example retreading or reprocessing. These tags are designed remain attached to the tyre right through to its end-of-life and the data they contain is accessed using a handheld scanner, which reads the unique RFID.
