Nearly two-thirds of UK drivers considering all-season tyres
According to a survey commissioned by Apollo Tyres Ltd, 65 per cent of motorists in the UK would now consider all-season tyres as their next replacement set. The result of this OnePoll survey of 1,000 UK respondents reflects the continued growing popularity of tyres designed to perform well in conditions encountered throughout the entire year, including dry, wet and snow.

Designed for combustion, electric and hybrid vehicles, the new tyre will be available for this coming winter in 62 dimensions. According to the manufacturer, Michelin Alpin 7 offers a six per cent improvement in braking on snow-covered roads and nine per cent less rolling resistance than the Alpin 6.

Davanti Tyres has launched the Vantoura DX450, a new light commercial/van tyre which targets increased durability and efficiency. The tyre has been developed and tested “extensively”, Davanti says, using the brand’s facilities at industry-leading proving ground Applus IDIADA. Backing its claims of long tyre life, Davanti submitted the Vantoura DX450 to Dekra for open-road wear testing, on which it achieved up to 36 per cent higher mileage on average compared to Davanti’s previous generation commercial van tyre. As well as increased longevity, Davanti says the tyre offers stability and superior handling.
