Vredestein boosts Traxion Optimall VF tractor tyre range with 6 more sizes
Apollo Tyres has bolstered its Vredestein agricultural tyre range with a further six sizes of the Traxion Optimall VF. The new additions focus on bringing the tyre to powerful tractors of 160hp and above. The Traxion Optimall series boasts good self-cleaning properties, grip, comfort and a long tyre life, the manufacturer states. The six new sizes are: VF750/70R44, VF900/50R42, VF650/65R38, VF650/60R38, VF710/55R30 and VF540/65R28.

Lighter & longer lasting: Michelin launches new generation aviation tyre
With the debut of the Air X Sky Light commercial aviation tyre at this week’s Paris Air Show, Michelin says it is introducing a world first. The tyre is 10-20% lighter than previous generations, and this “major weight saving” is accompanied by “better performances over the long term” such as Landing Per Tread (LPT). The manufacturer anticipates a 15-20% longer lifespan for Air X Sky Light compared to equivalent older generation products.

Michelin tyres for latest BMW M2
Factory fitment of Michelin tyres on the BMW M2 continues with the latest incarnation of the sporty C-Segment coupe. The second-generation G82 model wears Pilot Sport 4 S tyres in size 275/35 ZR19 at the front and 285/30 ZR20 on the rear wheels. Track tyres are also available as an option in conjunction with the M Race Track Package, and BMW equips cars ordered in this configuration with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres in the same sizes.

Pirelli recreates Scorpion BK for Lamborghini LM002 in Collezione range
Pirelli is expanding its Collezione range of vintage tyres with the Scorpion BK for the 1986 Lamborghini LM002. The tyre’s size and strength put it at the cutting edge of tyre technology when it was introduced, while its distinctive “ears” helped the tyre stand out further: lateral winglets that allowed the tyre to float across the desert sands. Recreated as part of the Pirelli Collezione range dedicated to historical cars, the tyre was shown at FouriConcorso: an event for the collectors’ cars near Lake Como. Pirelli has supplied tyres to Lamborghini’s SUV range from 1963, through the LM002, to the modern Urus.

Auto Express makes Hankook Kinergy 4S 2 all-season tyre of the year
Three of Hankook’s flagship tyres have been recommended in consumer motor magazine Auto Express’s Product of the Year Awards. The all-season Kinergy 4S 2 won the all-season tyre category, following its tyre test victories in 2022 and 2021.Hankook’s Ventus S1 evo 3 SUV tyre and new Winter i*cept RS3 also received the magazine’s “Commended” rating in other categories. “Once again, we are delighted with these Product of the Year awards from Auto Express and this proves that Hankook tyres are a great choice for our UK customers all year round. New GT Radial dual approach to electric vehicle tyres “a game changer”
GT Radial has unveiled its “dual approach” strategy to the electric vehicle tyre market. The headline news is that the brand’s manufacturer Giti Tire has produced an initial three 18-20” sizes of the specialist GT Radial SportActive 2 EV tyre, with the 19 and 20-inch variations achieving the top AAA label rating. GT Radial has also introduced 16 “EV Ready” tyres in the brand’s popular SportActive 2 and FE2 portfolios, demonstrating the manufacturer’s strategy to supply both specialist EV tyres and products suitable for EVs and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. Airbus approves Goodyear aviation tyres for the new A321XLR
Airbus has approved Goodyear tyres for fitment on the new A321XLR. As a result of its system part certification, Goodyear’s Flight Radial will be among the tyres fitted when the aircraft enters service in 2024. Goodyear says the Flight Radial is one of its “most advanced” aviation products. It contains technologies that support the tyre’s dimensional stability for longer life and increased cut resistance. Its radial construction also offers more landings.
