Pre-Q Galgo Corporation has added five new designs that have been “lab-tested down to 80° below”. The Extreme line now includes: LDD (Long Distance Drive) 24/32, DLM (Drive Lug Medium) 18/32, PB (Power Block) 26/32, SD (Snow Drive) 25/32, MPO (Multi Positional) 22.5/32 for a total of 18 designs that have been lab tested down to 80° below.

During 2023 Kumho Tyre is significantly expanding its truck tyre distribution channels in the UK in order to increase availability. Direct supply has recently been launched from Kumho’s GB warehouse stock and the company reports that it is “actively seeking to partner with specialist truck tyre businesses focused on sales to fleets and other end users”. A national sales manager for truck tyres has also been appointed to lead Kumho’s development programme in the UK commercial tyre market.

Iconic British automotive manufacturer, MOKE International, has announced that the Electric MOKE is the first electric vehicle to achieve the M1 Small Series Type Approval, enabling the sale of the model in the European Union, up to 1,500 units. The first heritage automotive manufacturer to go fully electric in 2022, its Electric MOKE is a no-emissions recreation of the iconic Mini MOKE - beloved by the likes of The Beatles, The Beach Boys and Brigitte Bardot. It is also the only vehicle with no roof and no doors to have achieved European certification as a road-legal car.

Continental is developing virtual ECU Creator software (vECU Creator) to enable vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and third parties to be able to configure and run virtual cloud-based electronic control units in their specific development environments to help develop code for micro-controller and processor hardware that does not yet exist. The virtual ECU Creator is part of the Continental Automotive Edge (CAEdge) framework, which runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Hankook will showcase its iON range of specialist electric vehicle tyres at the London EV Show (28-30 November, ExCel London, Stand number ES11). The London EV Show is the largest international trade show and conference focused on the electric vehicle industry in Europe. Hankook launched the iON range in 2022, tyres with a technological emphasis on EVs leading to reduced rolling resistance, low noise, and high resilience. This means that compared to conventional tyres, the tyres offer increased range per battery charge. Hankook iON products are also designed for the high torque immediately produced by powerful electric vehicles. Overall this means a better driving experience for EV drivers.
