Autogem enhances repair solution
Autogem has inflated its aftermarket tyre safety offering to coincide with National Tyre Safety Month, courtesy of an improved 6mm combination plug patch solution. The upgrades begin with the packaging, which now includes a QR code linking to a product training video. Two ‘cut-out and keep’ guides can also be detached from the box and used to help identify safe and repairable areas of tread as well as tyre injury angle of penetration.

Market debut for Apollo Tyres’ A-rated LHT tyre

Yokohama to exhibit EV tyres, sustainability technologies at Japan Mobility Show 2023
Yokohama will exhibit its electric vehicle-compatible and sustainable technologies at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, (Tokyo Big Sight’s East Hall 2 in Koto-ku, Tokyo, 26 October to 5 November). The manufacturer’s booth has been assembled under the theme, ‘Yokohama: Creating the Tires of the Future’, with a focus on the company’s latest and future tyre technology developments. These will include tyre mounted sensors, as well as the concept aerodynamic Advan A50 fin tyre, and the Japanese premiere of the Advan Sport EV, Yokohama’s newly launched dedicated high performance tyre for electric vehicles.

ADAC tests winter tyres for compact SUVs – 7 good performers
In addition to evaluating the performance of 16 winter tyres in size 225/45 R17, European motoring clubs ADAC, TCS and ÖAMTC have tested a further 16 in size 205/60 R16, a dimension primarily worn by smaller SUVs. The test team fitted the tyres to a VW T-Roc and appraised their performance in dry, wet and wintry conditions as well as for environmental and sustainability-related factors such as noise, wear and rolling resistance.

Michelin and Bridgestone share honours in Tyre Reviews 2023 winter tyre test
Unusually, two tyres won this year’s Tyre Reviews winter tyre test – both the Michelin Alpin 5 and the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005. According to Tyre Reviews founder and head tester Jonathan Benson, “technically the Michelin Alpin 5 did pip the Bridgestone, but it was such a tiny margin I am calling them both test winners.”

Sailun expands Atrezzo ZSR2 and ZSR2 EV tyre ranges
Sailun Tyre Group is expanding its range of Atrezzo ZSR2 and ZSR2 EV tyres. By the end of the year, 14 new tyre dimensions ranging from 16 to 20 inches in diameter, a total of 54 sizes will be introduced.
