Dunlop expands light truck tyre portfolio to meet demand for seasonal mobility
Dunlop is extending its Econodrive range of light truck tyres to include winter and all-season fitments. Two new products, the Dunlop Econodrive AS (all-season) and Dunlop Econodrive Winter, expand the existing Dunlop Econodrive light truck range. This includes the summer tyres Dunlop Econodrive and Dunlop Econodrive LT. Dunlop said the new additions help to position the brand to compete in the value segment of the light truck tyre market.

All-season tyres are a logical choice for smaller vehicles primarily used in urban areas, and for this reason, it is surprising that few tyre tests focus on fitments for cars such as these. Tyre Reviews addressed this in its 2023 all-season test, looking at ten tyres in size 195/65 R15. Yokohama tyres OE on new Honda Odyssey
The Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. has confirmed that it is supplying its Advan dB V551 and Aspec A349 tyres as original equipment (OE) to Honda Motor Co. Ltd. for use on the brand’s new Odyssey minivan, which is slated for December 2023 launch in Japan. New van demand grows for 11th month but EV uptake needs 2024 boost
Britain’s new light commercial vehicle (LCV) market grew by 12.7 per cent in November as 27,433 vans, pickups and 4x4s joined Britain’s fleets, according to the latest figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The performance is 4.6 per cent above pre-pandemic 2019 levels and represents 11 consecutive months of rising demand, totalling 311,754 units – the largest volume for two years as product availability continues to improve.

Decline in battery electric vehicle sales underlines continuing need to address demand – Deloitte
The -17.1 per cent decline in battery electric vehicle registrations in November may have been a result of supply chain issues, but analysts argued that the setback on the electrification of the UK car parc also underlines the need to continue addressing issues affecting consumer demand. Apollo celebrates Vredestein Quatrac’s strong performance in Auto Express all-season tyre test
Apollo Tyres is celebrating the achievement of its latest Vredestien Quatrac all-season tyre, after the product secured second place in the 2023 Auto Express All Season Tyre Test. Developed for mid-sized family cars and SUVs, the Quatrac was given a ’Recommended’ rating alongside the winning Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3, having proved its all-round performance in all conditions – it was top in braking on snow and in the wet, while it only dropped one place in the dry braking test, emphasising its safety credentials. Overall, it was just 0.1 per cent behind the winner. The Quatrac could also be called a value champion, acquired for a price around 20 per cent cheaper than the winning tyre.
