Yokohama previews Geneva exhibit
The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., is to exhibit highlight its high performance of tyres, with a focus on the Advan global flagship brand and the fuel-efficient BluEarth brand. According to the company, Yokohamas booth will also display the AERO-Y electric vehicle (EV) concept car. Yokohama suggest a number of new products will be introduced at the show including three new tyre products, two of which are described as world premieres and one a European premier.

On 17 February, Yokohamas European subsidiary officially opened a dedicated winter tyre development and testing centre in Nattberg, Sweden, roughly 80 kilometres from the Arctic Circle. The latest news represents the most recent development in the expanding cooperation between Yokohama and Nordic tyre specialists Arctic Falls, which began roughly a decade ago. In practice this means Yokohama has signed a long-term contract with Arctic Falls for exclusive use of the facility during the long winter season and that it is branded as Yokohama Test Center of Sweden.

This latest version of the ContiRoadAttack 2 bears the initials ‘GT’ on the tyre’s sidewall and has been optimised for use on heavy weight touring and naked bikes, with a wear-resistant compound and a reinforced casing design that includes a second casing layer for enhanced stability and easier handling.

Zeetex has expanded its European market portfolio with the addition of six lines. The new products – the SU1000, HP1000, AT1000 and HT1000 ranges for SUV/4x4 vehicles and the CT1000 for light commercial vehicles – are said to provide offering enhanced dry grip and steering response, good traction, exceptional ride comfort and good handling, exceptional mileage and reduced aquaplaning. Zeetex brand distributor Zafco Trading says the new offerings “are geared to change the European tyre scene.” The tyres were launched at a dealer meeting in Austria this month.
