New launches spearhead Hofmann Megaplan’s Brityrex presence

These include the megaline Ssence 3D Wheel Aligner, the latest generation alignment system, which uses 3D Camera and Target technology. The Ssence is fast and easy to operate, thanks to software designed to make life as easy for the operator as possible by minimising unnecessary procedures. The system is available in two versions, the economically-priced 400, or the ultra-advanced 600, with 32-inch display and automatic camera bar.

Leading wheelmaker Uniwheels Group reports that it managed to both increase revenues 5.8 per cent and stabilise the company’s overall business in full-year 2013 results published today (24 March 2014). According to the company, the business’s growth came largely thanks to the “very positive” development of the firm’s Automotive Division, which focuses on supplying the OEM business and grew 12 per cent in 2013. In addition, the successful implementation of cost-cutting measures in the administration of the business is also said to have had a positive impact.

BYDs second-generation dual-mode, plug-in high performance hybrid electric saloon car, the Qin, has set a second record month of sales in February. Trends in March now make it Chinas Best-Selling Electric Vehicle according to Chinas National Passenger Car Association. The Qin, in renamed form, is expected to spearhead BYD sales in the European consumer market in the coming years.

The latest edition of Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport contains its annual summer tyre test, and 2014 is something of a jubilee year – the magazine published its first tyre test exactly 50 years ago, a test that pitted modern radials against conventional cross-ply tyres. This year’s winner in the size 205/55R16V comparison – a size unimaginable half a century ago – is the ContiPremiumContact 5. Tyres that were “recommended” include (in order) the Uniroyal Rainsport 3, Pirelli Cinturato P7, Dunlop Sport BluResponse, Toyo Proxes CF2, Hankook Ventus Prime 2 and Michelin Energy Saver+. The Premiorri Solazo and – surprisingly and disappointingly – the Bridgestone Turanza T001 were only “conditionally recommended”. The Westlake Radial RP 18 and GT Champiro VP1 E/C were labeled “not recommended”. The tyres were tested fitted to a VW Golf.

Alutec launches new SUV wheel
Alutec has launched a new SUV wheel design with load-bearing in mind. According to the company the Alutec W 10 aluminium alloy features a particularly high wheel load of up to 1,025 kilograms. In addition the wheels is designed to be “technically sophisticated”, featuring a 5-V right up to the 20-inch size. The appearance has reported been sculpted with the large body surfaces of SUVs such as Range Rover Evoque in mind.
