BFGoodrich strengthens 4×4 portfolio with European launch of ‘best ever’ all-terrain tyre
Every summer, thousands of Land Rover enthusiasts throughout France make their way to the Auvergne region and pay homage to the esteemed off-road brand. Over a three-day period they test their vehicles’ mettle on a series of rugged courses, and when not traversing rocks, steep slopes and mud they can be found shooting the breeze with other like-minded devotees. Tyres & Accessories was present at the 2015 edition of ‘Landrauvergne’ during the first weekend in July, and in addition to being treated to the rare sight of our French neighbours flying the union flag and celebrating all things British (and least when it comes to off-road motoring), we gained the opportunity to experience the successor to BFGoodrich’s pioneering All-Terrain T/A KO in action.

Easi Recycling introduces higher capacity tyre baler
York-based supplier of recycling equipment and solutions, Easi Recycling has added a new, high capacity product to its portfolio of balers and compactors. While the company’s range has always included tyre balers, the newly upgraded line now includes the higher output W8500H baler. Processing between 400 and 500 tyres per hour, with an 85 ton pressing force and increased support pressing plate, the W8500H has been designed and manufactured purposefully for the tough material waste management of vehicle tyres, Easi states.

Pirelli Seal Inside tyres perform well in endurance test
An endurance test carried out by Italian motoring magazine Quattroruote has placed the effectiveness of Pirelli’s ‘Seal Inside’ technology under the magnifying glass. A vehicle fitted with set of tyres featuring the self-sealing material, one containing a 4mm thick nail and a self-tapping screw, was driven at speed for several hours. At the end of the test, the evaluation team detected only a very slight loss in air pressure.

Figures published by ACEA show that, in May 2015, demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU increased (+6.0 per cent) for the fifth consecutive month, totalling 160,550 units. Growth was sustained across all commercial vehicle segments. Results were diverse among the major markets, with Germany (-9.1 per cent) and France (-5.6 per cent) facing a downturn, while Spain (+30.1 per cent) and the UK (+17.4 per cent) posted double‐digit growth.
