Mitas Premium to launch on replacement market in 2016
Following its original equipment launch in 2015, Mitas Premium will replace the Continental brand for rear radial agricultural tyres on the replacement market in January 2016. Mitas Premium tyres will be gradually phased in worldwide for purchase from local Mitas dealers. The manufacturer added that Mitas Premium tyres bear the same technical specifications as Continental agri tyres, which Mitas has manufactured under license since 2004.

Titan International, Inc. has entered into a licensing agreement with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. The agreement allows Titan to distribute and sell Goodyear-brand agricultural tyres in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Russia and other CIS countries, as well as manufacture such farm tyres in parts of the licensed territory outside the European Union. The expansion of the Goodyear-brand farm tyre licensing covers more than a hundred countries, including the UK, Eire, Germany and Italy. In addition, Titan has purchased certain Goodyear moulds and other assets currently located in Poland, Turkey and South Africa.

Trelleborg will launch the latest tyre to feature its ProgressiveTraction technology at Agritechnica 2015, on 8-14 November in Hannover, Germany. The TM1060 upgrades Trelleborg’s high performance solution for new generations of tractors, ranging from 80 to over 300 HP. Trelleborg says the range will improve farming efficiency thanks to the double lug ProgressiveTraction tread, which boosts grip and significantly reduces vibrations. Operating on the soil at different times, the double lug progressively increases traction when required. The tyre also has a flexible carcass for homogenous deformation distribution and, absorbing road surface roughness, assures a smoother ride.

Pointing out that tyres account for around 35 per cent of a car’s overall maintenance budget, SigmaVision says prolonging the healthy life of tyres is sound practice, securing maximum value from a set of tyres. The early detection of uneven wear, for example, means the cause of the problem – incorrect inflation of the tyre, or wheel misalignment – can be corrected. On the safety side, fleets’ tyre care policy has a clear role to play too: more than a quarter of road traffic incidents involve someone who is driving as part of their work at the time.

Mitas will unveil new High Capacity Municipal (HCM) tyres for urban use at Hanover’s Agritechnica show, the manufacturer has announced. Presenting the 540/80R38 HCM tyre as the first size representing Mitas’ future expansion into the municipal tyre segment, the company will host guests on stand E29 in Hall 3. The initial four sizes of Mitas HCM tyres will be available on the market in 1Q 2016.

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. is to launch the “BluEarth-A AE50 Chelsea FC Edition” featuring the Chelsea Football Club logo on the sidewall. Following the product’s release in Japan on 29 October, the tyre will be launched gradually in Europe, Asia and South America, with approaches varying from country to country. According to Yokohama, the Chelsea tyre will be available in three sizes: 225/45R17 94W, 205/55R16 91V and 195/65R15 91H.
