The machine VMI calls a “new dawn for truck tyre building” will be launched next month. The VMI MILEXX, which draws upon the technological principles applied in the VMI MAXX car tyre builder, will be unveiled at Tire Technology Expo 2016.

Nokian has launched its latest summer tyre, the iLine, available in a wide range of sizes towards the end of the first quarter of 2016. Intended for small and medium-sized cars, the tyre’s major performance characteristics include a focus on fuel efficiency and better water dispersal with the Finnish manufacturer’s “Venturi Grooves”. Nokian has also used pine oil in its rubber compound for the tyre to increase durability.

Continental has announced plans to start production of ABS and ESC units in India in 2016. A new assembly line for ABS and ESC for passenger cars and later ABS for two-wheelers will be located in the existing Continental Automotive Brake Systems plant in Gurgaon, Haryana. Local production of the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is planned for 2018 in Bangalore.
