Go Goodyear – a new app for tyre industry professionals
Goodyear claims an industry first with the launch of a new app that focuses on educating the people who buy, sell or fit Goodyear tyres. Named ‘Go Goodyear’, the free app is aimed at smartphone and tablet users and offers a range of features, including fast access to fitment guides, tyre education, interesting videos and product information. In addition, Goodyear intends to keep users engaged through competitions and quirky items such as a ‘Chamber of Horrors’, and articles on futuristic mobility.

Bridgestone reports that its Ecopia H/L 422 Plus has been approved as an original equipment tyre for the 2016 Dodge Durango. The full-size SUV, which is built on the same platform as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, will receive the Bridgestone tyre as standard equipment in size 265/50R20 for the All-Wheel Drive, R/T Rear-Wheel Drive and Citadel All-Wheel Drive models, and the Ecopia H/L 422 Plus is available as an option in this size for the Durango SXT and Limited.

The 7/2016 issue of German 4x4 and SUV magazine Auto Bild Allrad contains a test of seven size 215/60 R16H/V all-season SUV tyres. The tyres were fitted to a Skoda Yeti for evaluation purposes and rated for on-road performance in the snow, wet and dry as well as for environmental and comfort characteristics. Off-road performance was not tested.

As an official sponsor of this summer’s UEFA Euro 2016 tournament, Continental will continue positioning of its brand close to the top level of European football, a strategy that continues to prove successful, and popular with competitors. As part of its sponsorship package with the tournament, Conti will equip the transfer buses taking teams all over France to the ten host cities with its premium bus tyres, a feature previously seen at the Brazil-hosted World Cup in 2014, when Conti supplied a special edition ContiGol Urbino. In addition to the buses used by all 24 teams who have qualified, the specially designed Conti Goal HA3 tyres will also run on 20 VIP buses provided by selected private transport companies. Conti will use an exclusive special edition tyre for the tournament based on its Conti CityPlus HA3 tyre for regional transportation. The size 295/80R22.5 Conti Goal HA3 was developed in Germany by the manufacturer’s engineers, and can be fitted to any axle.
