A new industry report from global growth strategy consulting company Ipsos Business Consulting presents its vision for how so-called “Connected Cars” will “revolutionise the automotive experience”. The report is optimistic in its vision of the future, suggesting that car ownership worries, such as high costs and significant commuting times, could be exchanged for safer, less stressful travel. According to Ipsos, the automotive industry is in the early stages of radical transformation that will see the connected car “become the most advanced computing device that we own.”

Bert Gebben, group head of Wet Spinning within the R&D facility at the company’s headquarters in Arnhem, the para-aramid is formed through the reaction between an amine group and a carboxylic acid halide group.

Yet average CO2 output was still close to 25 grams per kilometre – or more than 20 per cent – above the 95 gram limit the EU has set for 2020. Achieving the 2020 goal requires a further drop in vehicle running resistance, and car makers expect tyre OEMs to contribute to this goal by offering even lighter products with lower rolling resistance. The new X LINE Energy range is the first tyre range to receive an A grade rolling resistance ratings in the drive, steer and trailer positions, according to the European Tyre Label measure. As a result, Iveco customers can opt for the market’s first heavy truck tyre range to earn an “A” rating for rolling resistance on every axle.

Pirelli’s Diablo Superbike has emerged victorious from a comparative test by the German magazine PS. The magazine compared racing slicks from six different manufacturers on track at the Sachsenring circuit. The Bridgestone Battlax Racing V02, Michelin Power Slick Ultimate, Dunlop KR 106 / KR 108, Metzeler Racetec RR Slick and Continental Track were fitted to a BMW S 1000 RR model in sizes 120/70 R17 front and 200/65 R17 rear. The full test results were published in the 07/2016 issue of PS.

The company has begun retreading drive rollers and rubber agricultural tracks, and displayed a number of these products at the show. The tyre retreader considers the addition of these products to its retreading portfolio a logical step for the company.

For the first time, the TractorMaster tyre will be showcased in the new 280/75 R22.5 size. “Port logistics is constantly changing. Digitalization, connectivity, and the requirements for minimal downtimes and reduced costs are challenges that our customers have to overcome,” said Julian Alexander, Product Line Manager Material Handling at Continental CST. “We are constantly developing our product range in order to be able to offer the best solutions for their individual needs from a single source – and for every port vehicle.”
