Larger stand, product launches part of Gaither Europe’s Automechanika plan
Gaither Europe has shared details about its planned presence at Automechanika 2016. The Netherlands-based company will exhibit at the Frankfurt show on a twin level, 125 square metre site, and from this stand – which is significantly larger than its presence at the previous Automechanika – will display a wide selection of its range, including several new products that will be unveiled during the course of the fair.

Two tyres from the Yokohama Geolandar range have been selected as original equipment fitments for Mazda SUVs sold in certain global markets. The Geolandar H/T G056 will be available as an original equipment tyre on the CX-9 crossover when it goes on sale in North America this spring, and buyers will be able to receive the Geolandar in size P255/60R18 107H or 255/60R18 108H. In China, Yokohama Rubber will ship its Geolandar G91 to Mazda for fitment on the new CX-4. The crossover SUV will receive the Yokohama tyre in size 225/55R19 99V.

By the time the cold months are upon us again, Pirelli will have introduced its new Cinturato Winter range. This aftermarket successor to the Snowcontrol Serie 3 is aimed at compact and mid-sized vehicles and, according to the tyre maker, is the beneficiary of a transfer that sees the technological innovations typically found in performance car tyres, especially those related to safety, introduced into standard tyres for medium-sized cars. The result? Upon unveiling the Cinturato Winter in June, Pirelli claimed to have produced a tyre that offers the “driving pleasure and comfort more normally associated with a summer tyre” while simultaneously ensuring “maximum safety under all conditions.”

Trials carried out by the DEKRA Automobile Test Centre in Germany on behalf of Michelin indicates this brand of summer tyre lasts an average of nearly 5,000 miles longer than the average mileage for a group of well-known competitor brands. Andy Fern, head of Fleet at Michelin Tyre plc, notes that this performance advantage is the equivalent of more than three months of additional motoring (based on an average company car mileage of 18,600 miles per annum, as per DfT figures).

Off-road tyre specialist BKT is proud to share that its products were fitted to tractors featured at this week’s launch of the Deutz-Fahr 6 and 7 Series ranges, which took place at the brand’s ‘Future Farming’ event in Dresden, Germany. The company also served as a sponsor to the SDF launch event and reports that its Agrimax RT 657 was fitted on 6 and 7 Series tractors at the launch and the Agrimax RT 765 on the 7 Series. A total of 19 Deutz-Fahr vehicles were available for live testing at Future Farming, and BKT shares that its flagship Agrimax Force saw action fitted to the 9 Series, which was launched last year.

Falken Tyre Europe has added two new winter truck tyres to its range, the new SI011 for the steer axle and the new SI021 for the drive axle. Both products have been designed to increase mileage and traction, while delivering stability and safety. Falken states it has increased the width of tread areas on both tyres, while Sumitomo Rubber Industries’ patented 4D-Nano compound technology has also been employed to increase the tyres’ performance in these areas.
