German consumer magazine makes Brembo Best Brake Brand 2024
Readers of Europe’s top car magazine, Auto Motor und Sport, have voted Brembo their favourite brake brand for the 11th time. The vote was part of Auto Motor und Sport’s prestigious Best Cars 2024 awards. Drivers, mostly from Germany, voted for the best brands in 26 product and service-related categories. Brembo swept the board in the Brakes/Brake Pads class, earning an overwhelming 72.7 per cent of the 92,798 votes submitted.

Continental responds to TyreSafe survey van tyre findings with safety awareness tips
UK tyre safety charity TyreSafe found that almost 18 per cent of van tyres were replaced with less than the legal minimum 1.6mm of tread depth in the 2023 Tread Depth Survey. Continental has become the preferred tyre supplier of Maritime Transport, the UK’s leading provider of integrated, low-carbon road and rail freight logistics. The intermodal transport operator is running its machinery on Conti’s speciality OTR tyres at its rail and freight terminals around the country. EU car sales rise by 10.1% in February, electric market share holds at 12%
In February, the EU experienced a surge in car sales, up by 10.1 per cent compared to last year, totalling 883,608 units. France and Italy led this growth with double digit increases (13 per cent and 12.8 per cent respectively), while Spain and Germany followed with solid single-digit growth (9.9 per cent and 5.4 per cent). Battery-electric cars maintained a stable market share of 12 per cent, with sales growing by 9 per cent to 106,187 units. Hybrid-electric cars saw a surge in sales by 24.7 per cent, totalling 255,511 units and capturing nearly 29 per cent of the market. Plug-in hybrid cars also experienced notable growth, now representing 7.3 per cent of the EU car sales.
