Sigmavision to present TreadReader tyre measurement app at Automechanika Birmingham
Sigmavision will showcase its new TreadReader tyre measurement App at Automechanika Birmingham. The 3D tyre measurement technology company has added the App to its TreadReader range of tyre measurement products; it is used to control the Hand Held scanner, making a tyre inspection and diagnostic tool. Downloaded to a phone or tablet, the App connects to the scanner via Wi-Fi. Intuitive screens guide technicians through the scanning of vehicle tyres, with the option of printing a PDF report for the customer, illustrating tread depth and tyre condition.

As a result, show organisers Promotec Spa point out that this strong presence means more exhibition space devoted to the tyre business, not to mention a busy calendar events and workshops as part of the AutopromotecEDU programme.

Pirelli enters its tenth season at Donington Park supporting the MCE British Superbike Championship as both presenting sponsor and sole tyre supplier with newly developed rubber to increase the pace. Shane Byrne starts as title favourite, targeting a sixth series crown, but he will be forced to fight for every race by rivals Leon Haslam, 2015 BSB Champ Josh Brookes and ex-World Superbike Champion Sylvain Guintoli. Heuver Tyrewholesale has reorganised its large off-road tyre range, introducing an extra tyre category between OTR and agricultural tyres. The wholesaler said the new categorisation is a reaction to shifting user requirements and a wide range of tyre possibilities. The “MPT agro industry” selection applies to tyres that do not fit comfortably in the ‘agricultural’ or ‘OTR’ categories. Heuver said its new category will allow it to improve its range and level of service, while allowing customers to find the tyres they need faster than before.
