The Eskimo SUV 2 gives the Goodyear brand a tyre that is “specifically designed to provide exceptional snow handling and optimised braking for SUVs.” Goodyear states that it offers “peace of mind for Europe’s harsher winters.” The Eskimo SUV 2 is available in five sizes for 17 and 18-inch rim diameters.

Hankook gains first BMW Motorsport customer tyre supply with M4 GT4
The new BMW M4 GT4 made its competitive debut in the ADAC Zurich 24-hour race at the Nürburgring late last month, running on Hankook Ventus Race tyres, and Hankook Tire has now begun supplying this tyre as original equipment for cars sold to customer racing teams around the world. BMW Motorsport has selected the Ventus Race in size 300/660 R18, on 11x18-inch rims, for the 431 hp, straight-six M4 GT4.

GT Radial WinterPro2 launched with Dekra certified performance enhancements
Giti Tire has launched the GT Radial WinterPro2, available for the 2017 winter season in the UK from exclusive PCR distributor Micheldever Tyre Services. The tyre showed wet performance gains while maintaining snow handling against its previous generation and four main competitors in independent tests by Dekra. Giti states that the tests, which were conducted early this year in Rovaniemi, Finland and Fontange, France, confirm the tyre was up to 10 per cent better in wet braking exercises and 2 per cent ahead in wet handling.

New generation of Michelin truck tyres to increase mileage ‘by 15-20%’
Michelin launched its new generation of truck tyres at the 2017 Commercial Vehicle Show in the UK and Ireland, stating that the new fitments deliver 15-20 per cent more mileage than the current Michelin X MultiWay 3D series, at no extra cost. The new X Multi tyre line-up has been designed to supply users with the lowest cost per kilometre and high levels of grip in all weather conditions throughout the life of the tread. Michelin has made the new tyres available immediately in four key fitments: 315/70R22.5 multi-position and drive tyres and 385/55R22.5 steer and trailer tyres. The range will be expanded with the launch of 295/60R22.5 and 315/60R22.5 X Multi D in September 2017 and then the 315/70R22.5 X Multi D Remix early in 2018.

Hankook helps BMW M4 GT4 to class win as tyre provider for TCR, GT4 at N24
Hankook supplied the tyres for the TCR and GT4 classes, including the new BMW M4 GT4, which made its official race debut in the Nürburgring 24 Hour race. 21 cars out of the 160 starters ran on with its Ventus Race range; the manufacturer supplied a total of 1,500 tyres for the Eifel region event. Hankook states that the slick tyre provided a consistently high level of grip both in daytime track temperatures of up to 47 degrees and on a cooler track during the night. The manufacturer added that the tyres’ high level of consistency allowed drivers to clock fast lap times at the end of their stints.
