Video: Vincent van Goor explains Dunlop LMP2 tyre development for Le Mans
Dunlop has released a new video with senior engineer, racing car tyre development, Vincent van Goor explaining its tyre development ahead of this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours. A record number of LMP2 cars will compete on the manufacturer’s rubber – 22 of the 25 entrants. All of the cars are racing on the La Sarthe track for the first time courtesy of new regulations for 2017. The race starts at 15:00 CEST on Saturday 17 June.

7 Vipal treads verified for German government incentive programme
Seven treads in Vipal Rubber’s portfolio have been made eligible for use in the German De-minimis programme. The VT220, VT160, VDA4 (all drive axle), VL150A, VZAB, VAP1 and VT550A (trailer) designs have all been verified, and meet the programme’s needs. Promoted by the German government, De-minimis reimburses a significant part of fleet operators’ costs in acquiring tyres retreaded to certain specifications.

Juno Racing Cars has selected Landsail as its original equipment tyre. Reporting the arrangement, Landsail manufacturer Qingdao Sentury Tire Co., Ltd states that it produces eight different types of 13-inch formula racing tyre, and these will be fitted as the original tyre on all Juno vehicle models, including the F1000, CN2016 and SSE.

ATS Wheels confirmed as official wheel supplier for 2017 DTM season
Alloy brand ATS Wheels, distributed in the UK by Wolfrace Wheels, has been confirmed as the official wheel supplier for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM). ATS hardware will be found under the arches of the cars of all three OEMs competing in the series; Mercedes, Audi and BMW. ATS will supply 12x18in (front) and 13x18in (back) aluminium forged wheels, produced using a special alloy selected for its extreme strength and lightweight.

There has been a distinct improvement in the outlook for many, if not all, West European economies when it comes to trailer sales. As a consequence, the forecast of a sharp slowdown in demand for trailers in the region during 2018 has moderated, but it has not disappeared – according to forecast upgrade note written by Clear International. Instead of demand dropping approximately 15 per cent in 2018 a decline in demand of 9 per cent is now forecast, followed by a further small drop in 2019 leading to a total shrinking of the market by 13 per cent over the two years.
