Bridgestone’s impressive grip of the off-road sector
Bridgestone claims market leadership in the mining and construction tyre sector, and with the mining sector namedropped alongside electric vehicle tyres for particular attention in its recently announced 800 billion yen ($5.38 billion) round of medium-term investment over the next three years, the global tyre manufacturing signalled its intent to continue to strengthen in this segment. SUV tyre pricing between 2021 and 2024
SUV tyres have not only become a fixture in the wider car tyre market in recent years, they also remain a significant margin opportunity for manufacturers and distributors alike. However, while this section of the market has been a bastion of the premium tyre brands throughout most of that time, the latest research suggests the budget SUV market segment is growing largely at the expense of the mid-range. With that in mind, in our April 2024 edition, Tyres & Accessories takes a look at the latest SUV tyre news, trends and products. Throughout the rest of the section we look at vehicle market trends, which pertain to size choice and volume demand, as well as the latest product and OE fitment news. Here, working in partnership with the market research specialists at Encircle Marketing, we take a look at SUV segmentation from a pricing perspective.

Year-round performance – Auto Bild Sportcars tests 11 all-season tyres
Sales of all-season tyres continue to grow, with these products finding favour with both private and fleet customers. For UK motorists, their appeal stems from the reality that the weather isn’t warm and sunny every day of the year; in other parts of Europe, all-season tyres offer an alternative to seasonal tyre swaps. But do all-season tyres meet the high expectations of performance car drivers? Auto Bild Sportscars has tested 11 brands of size 225/40 R18 all-season tyres to find out.

Increased track compatibility for Alliance 643 Forestar III range
Working in the forestry industry is no easy task, comments Yokohama-ATG (Y-ATG), therefore forestry tyres must be “durable, stable, and able to handle steep slopes safely and efficiently.” Supplementing tyres with tracks improves grip and traction, especially on challenging terrains such as steep or soft ground. Y-ATG is now providing users of Olofsfors tracks a further option by introducing the Alliance 643 Forestar III in size 710/45-26.5, enabling anyone already using this popular dimension to retain their existing tracks.
