Giti Tire’s GitiSynergyH2 high performance tyre in now available on the European aftermarket. The tyre’s original equipment derivative has already secured several fitments with the Volkswagen Group. The tyre is initially available in 17 sizes between 15” and 18”, section widths 185-235, series sizes 50-65 and with speed indices T, H, V, W and Y. Aimed primarily at compact and family cars, crossover vehicles and small SUVs, a further 25 additional sizes will follow throughout the year. On the EU label, the GitiSynergyH2 is rated A in wet grip and A-C in rolling resistance.

Two key agendas influenced Bridgestone’s decision to get involved with the World Solar Challenge (WSC). Alongside a desire to promote sustainability, the tyre maker viewed the event as an opportunity to make contact with young innovators. One such innovator was Lex Hoefsloot, whose team from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands achieved WSC class wins with their Stella solar vehicles on four occasions. These victories became the starting point of a relationship between Hoefsloot and Bridgestone that continues to this day and will see Bridgestone Turanza Eco tyres fitted to the world’s first commercially available long-range solar electric vehicle later this year.

Hankook’s Ventus S1 evo 3 will be fitted as original equipment on Porsche’s current 718 Boxster and Cayman from spring 2021. The products fitted will be tailor-made Ventus S1 evo 3 tyres in sizes 235/40 ZR19 (92Y) N-0 for the front axle and 265/40 ZR19 (98Y) N-0 for the rear axle. This is in addition to the Porsche Cayenne and Taycan models which Hankook already equips with Ventus S1 evo 3 tyres in SUV and EV specifications, respectively.
