Unprecedented EV discounting shores up September new car market

Michelin has sold around 13 million Alpin winter tyres over six generations and has now launched a seventh – the Michelin Alpin 7. Designed for combustion, electric and hybrid vehicles, the new tyre will be available for this coming winter in 62 dimensions. Davanti Tyres has launched the Vantoura DX450, a new light commercial/van tyre which targets increased durability and efficiency. The tyre has been developed and tested “extensively”, Davanti says, using the brand’s facilities at industry-leading proving ground Applus IDIADA. Backing its claims of long tyre life, Davanti submitted the Vantoura DX450 to Dekra for open-road wear testing, on which it achieved up to 36 per cent higher mileage on average compared to Davanti’s previous generation commercial van tyre. As well as increased longevity, Davanti says the tyre offers stability and superior handling.
