Michelin tyres for Ferrari 296 GTB
Ferrari has selected Michelin as an official tyre supplier for its new 296 GTB. Michelin will supply two different tyres for the car – the predominantly road-oriented Pilot Sport 4S K1 and the road legal Pilot Sport Cup 2R K2. The tyre maker says this latter product is for “drivers wishing to push the limits of their car on track.”

Peugeot, Vauxhall models rolling on Continental tyres
Continental says it has “developed a tyre with a significantly improved rolling resistance” for Peugeot, DS and Vauxhall vehicles with electric drives and combustion engines. Stellantis will factory-fit this 17-inch tyre on all electric SUVs, the Peugeot e-2008, the Vauxhall Mokka-E and the all-electric DS 3 Crossback E-Tense, as well as the combustion engine versions of these models.

Such a tweak has helped Bridgestone: When Autozeitung tested the Turanza T005 in 2020 it found the tyre imperfect on wet roads. New additions to Denso Aftermarket’s wiper programme
Denso is an original equipment (OE) manufacturer of wiper blades, supplying many of the world’s vehicle manufacturers, including Ferrari, which has been a Denso customer for more than 16 years. Its products are also available to the independent sector through the company’s aftermarket division. “To ensure that independents always have access to the products they need, Denso Aftermarket has recently added a number of new-to-range (NTR) additions to the already comprehensive OE wiper programme,” said Denso Europe, Pan European Strategic Marketing Manager, Fatiha Laauich.

Many recommendations in motoring associations’ 16-inch tyre test
The 2022 summer tyre tests performed by German motoring organisation ADAC and its Austrian and Swiss counterparts ÖAMTC and TCS evaluated a total of 34 tyres, both in size 185/65 R15 88H as well as the 215/60 R16 99V tyre size for compact SUVs that we’re looking at here. Overall, ADAC considers the outcome of the two tests a “positive review” of recent tyre evolution, as it considers almost all the tested tyres “recommendable or even particularly recommendable.”

GitiSynergyH2 tyre ADAC ‘Good’ rating ‘an achievement to be celebrated’
Giti Tire has called the ‘Good’ rating awarded to the GitiSynergyH2 high-performance tyre in the ADAC 2022 15” summer tyre test “an achievement to be celebrated.” The tyre was the only sub-premium brand model of the six tyres to achieve this distinction. It was assessed against sixteen other patterns in size 185/65R15 88H in dry and wet road performance, comfort and noise, fuel consumption and wear and tear. It was praised for its all-round performance. The GitiSynergyH2 has been classed as ‘Highly Recommended’ by the Swiss TCS and Austrian OAMTC automobile clubs.

Hankook debuts 4th generation Ventus Prime
